Hope For These Troubled Times

8/11/2021

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! As we begin our time together today, I would like to write on a topic that can help us all; because we are definitely living in some very troubling times right now…and I feel within my spirit that we could all use a piece of hope to hold to…a hope that can help us to remain connected to the One who represents truth, rather than one who represents deception.
You know…for the longest time, we have lived an overall good life. As a young girl, I remember moments when people cared about one another and there was just something in the air that made a person want to get up each day and enjoy life. Now, we seem to be facing times, when evil is attempting to take those moments away from us…and have control over life itself.
As I was looking through some Bible verses this morning, God led me to a great reading in Isaiah 5:20-21, 24-25, and we read… "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21) Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 24) Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. 25) Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still."
Isn't it amazing, as to how evil can make a person believe that it will win. Satan seems to work overtime…to set up life in such a way; that we begin to see these moments as though they will bring us to a final end and defeat us; but we must never forget the God who has control over evil. Even in the book of Job…God says to Satan, in chapter 1 verse 12… "And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord." We must remember that even though God allows Satan to do what he does…it's not for Satan's gain; but rather, to bring honor and glory to God's name…and even as Satan thought that he had control over Job…he really didn't; because God had put up a boundary line that Satan couldn't cross.
Maybe evil is on a rampage at this time; but God does have control…and when the time is right, He will shatter these works of evil into pieces; because it says in Exodus 15:6… "Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy."
The hope that God is giving us today cannot be found in focusing on all that evil is attempting to do; but rather, hope is found, when we anticipate what God is about to do. Remember…God did not send His only Son, Jesus Christ to the cross…just so He could abandon us now; but rather, it says in John 3:16… "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Ask yourself today… why would God do so much for us at the cross, through His only Son's death…and then turn around and allow evil to defeat us. We must remember that these moments that we are now enduring, have become decoys set up by Satan, as a means of  making us believe that nothing will get better. Instead of focusing on the ways of evil, while allowing their deceitfulness to remove the hope that once remained alive within us; we need to follow the words of I Thessalonians 5:22, which says… "Abstain from all appearance of evil"…and from there, we need to start anticipating God's next move…and when we choose to take this route, while walking through these troubled times; that is when we will once more experience a hope that can keep our path lit and help us to keep pressing on…Amen!
Have a very blessed day in the Lord…and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
