I wonder how many of us have struggled with a problem…never realizing that there is a way to rise above the despair in our lives. Seems as though we become so caught up in what is actually taking place at the time; that we don't stop to think that there is a place where God can sustain us and hold us, until the storm has passed by.
As I was looking through some Bible verses this morning; God began to speak to me about a couple verses in Psalm 121:1-2, which reads… "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2) My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
Let's face it…focusing and looking deeply into a difficult circumstance is not going to give us any relief from what we are going through at the time. In fact…it's only going to keep us locked up within these moments, until we begin to feel as if we are in a prison cell of despair. We must remember that just because these trying times can be enticing; that doesn't mean that we have to succumb to what they are attempting to convey to us.
You know…the one thing that God has truly taught me through a long life of pain and deep heartache; is to lift my eyes upward and beyond the problem; for that is where I find His strength, rather than the weakness that is attempting to take me down. For example…Satan has a way of afflicting me even more, when I choose to write through pain and tiredness; because his aim is to use the pain and tiredness to keep me from bringing God's hope to those in need. Even though these times can be very difficult for me…I choose to rise above them…and as I do; I am taken to a different realm…one where God stands with me, rather than the pain and tiredness.
You see…it's not only Satan's desire to afflict us; but to keep us caught up in these moments of affliction…and if he can do that; then he just might be able to lock us up in a prison cell of despair, as a means of controlling the affliction even more.
No matter what comes our way…we don't have to remain there…for when we choose to look upward and beyond the problem…just as I have done; then we will find that our minds, bodies and spirits can be given the strength to rise above the problem, which is God's way of sustaining us.
How do we rise above despair? We rise above despair, when we look up to God, rather than looking out to what is standing before us…and when we do; then we will truly come to see that life can be easier, even through the difficult times.
Have a very blessed day…and remember to reach up to God, rather than out to the problem!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
