Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! I'm so glad to be back with you today…and my prayer is that these God inspired words would truly touch the depth of your heart and mend what may be broken today…Amen!
Over the weekend, it seems like God has been inspiring me and filling my thoughts with several things, which I would like to share with you today. In fact…as I was looking out our patio door this morning…He began to show me something that I probably would have never noticed on my own…and that was how a tree in our backyard was still standing and thriving through many hot days without rain; and as I became even more focused on how this tree was still surviving a drought; God began to remind me…that we too can get through anything that comes our way…that is, if we are allowing that desire to be greater than the weaknesses that are attempting to take us down.
As I was looking through some Bible verses this morning; God instantly took me to a passage in Psalm 37:4-5, and we read… "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5) Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." I just wonder how many of us have truly taken delight in the Lord, while facing a very trying time in our lives. When we truly take delight in the Lord, while facing these troubling times; then that not only takes our focus away from what is wrong; but I also believe that this becomes a form of trust. In other words…when we can still take pleasure in the Lord, while experiencing a circumstance; then we are saying to the Lord that we have nothing else to think on but Him.
You know…it's so easy to say that we desire God's help; but at the same time, can we say that we have committed the desires of our hearts to the Lord, while pursuing His very best for us? Oh how Satan longs for us to just repeat the desires of our hearts over and over again…in a way that can make us believe that we are truly giving them to the Lord, while pursuing them; when actually we are doing nothing but speaking the desires of our hearts. In this way…Satan uses times such as these to keep us locked up within words alone. I have truly come to see within my own life; that when we choose to walk beyond our thoughts and words…and truly pursue and seek the desire of our hearts…with all our hearts…while taking delight in the Lord and trusting Him; this is when we truly come to see how God can bring the desire of our hearts to pass.
Today, can you say that you have committed the desires of your heart to God…and can you also say that you are seeking and pursuing the way in which God may be bringing those desires to pass? One thing I know…when we say one thing and do another…nothing gets accomplished. Each day, we need to let the desire for God's help become greater than the desire to go back to the wallowing hole of weakness, which only attempts to hold us back from God's very best. When we can take delight in the Lord and truly follow after the desire of our hearts; this is when I believe that God will crown every effort with His success.
Have a very blessed day and I will see ya soon!
