How To Find Peace In The Midst Of This Chaotic World

10/19/2021

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Tuesday to you all! What a great day the Lord hath made! I pray that as we begin this time together; that we will truly find peace and the goodness of a great God, just by turning away from the world…to focus completely on Him…Amen!!
As we spend some special moments together with God today, let me begin by asking you a question… "What are you thinking on the most, while living in this troubled world?" I would say that if our thoughts are turning often to the Lord; then right about now, we should be finding ourselves in a place of peace and contentment; but on the other hand…if our thoughts are on everything that is happening in this world around us; then I would think that our thoughts have taken us to a place of conflict and distress.
About 30 years ago, while going through some very hard and difficult times in my life; God introduced me to a Bible verse in Isaiah 26:3, for the very first time…so today, I'd like to pass it along to you, and we read… "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Now…wouldn't you say that if we feel the need to focus on every little detail, of what may be taking place in this world around us; that maybe…just maybe this could be a sign that we have placed more faith in what could continue to go wrong, rather than having faith in a God that has the power and ability to turn it all around and make it all right? You see…faith is believing in something we don't see; so you see…we can easily find ourselves trusting in the wrong thing, just by believing in what could possibly worsen even more with time…which from there, can lead us down a path of anxiety and distress.
We need to ask ourselves today…who do we turn often to, while facing these hard and difficult times of life; because if our thoughts are turning often to what is taking place around us; then we are also going to reap within the heart; what we see with our eyes and listen to with our ears.
One thing that I have noticed lately within my own life; is that I do find peace, even in the midst of whatever may be happening at the time; just by taking my attention away from the problem…to sing or talk with God. To me, it's as if my mind and spirit are being transported on wings of love…to a place where my thoughts can find peace, from the raging storm within.
You see…when we choose to remove our minds from the negativity and all that is attempting to consume us with worry, doubt and fear…to switch our thoughts over in God's direction; then we are made whole by the One that we have chosen to remain connected with during these troubling times, which can help us to remain steady on our feet…and at the same time, never have one thought of quitting or giving up on life.
As I was finishing my time alone with God last night…a thought came to me, which I would like to share with you today…and it goes like this… "Whatever we are plugged into, during the difficult storms of life; this will either generate more of God's power and peace in our lives…or it will generate nothing, which will only keep us in darkness and despair." In other words…if we are plugged in or connected deeply with God, during times such as these; then we will be given the power and peace that can keep us thriving through these difficult times; but on the other hand…if we choose to plug ourselves into or remain connected with all that is taking place around us; then nothing good will be generated, to keep us going forward in life…and we will only remain in the darkness of despair.
As we close, let me leave you with one final question to think on… "Who have you chosen to remain closely connected with…and who have you chosen to turn often to, during the hard and difficult times of life…this world or the Lord?"
Have a very blessed day…and may you truly find peace in the midst of all this chaos, by simply turning your thoughts often to the Lord!
God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
