How To Have Faith When Nothing Seems To Be Happening

8/23/2021

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! Well, here we go again…another new week, with new days to walk through; but you know what…the greatest thing about entering a new week; is that God fills it with new possibilities, so instead of dreading what's before you…look for what God is about to bless you with…Amen!!
The one thing that I can say today; that was the hardest thing for me to overcome in my life; was when I would struggle to keep the faith, while seeing nothing happen. I don't know how many times I begged God over and over again to help me, with no resolve in sight. It was through these difficult times that I came to see that begging for God's help was not a good sign of true faith in Him. In fact…I came to see how it only led me down a darkened path of doubt and fear…one that only made me feel locked up, within the hard and difficult times I was facing.
You know…maybe the one reason why we struggle to continue on with our faith, when nothing seems to be happening; is because we are more caught up in what hasn't happened; that we have lost the desire to focus on what God can truly do. In Proverbs 13:12, we read… "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life." In other words…when we allow our minds to become so caught up in what is not happening; then like the Bible verse says…hope is being deferred, while the heart sickens over times such as these. I have come to truly see that when we lose the desire for what we long to have God do within our lives; then we also struggle with faith; because the desire must be the first thing that leads us to faith…and if the desire isn't there; then faith will only be exchanged for hopelessness.
As we close our time together, I would like to share one more Bible verse with you, which is found in I Timothy 1:19, and we read… "Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:" God showed me through this Bible verse that we need to continually take hold of what can save us, rather than what can keep us where we are. We must remember that we should always cling tightly to the rock of faith…no matter how tired we are of the storm. In this way, we will be letting go of the unanswered prayer…to take hold of the faith that can lead us to the answers we need. No person who is out on a troubled sea gives into the storm…otherwise they die and lose out completely. Instead…that person fights to keep the faith, which eventually takes them further and further away from the storm, until those troubled waters rage no more.
Maybe today, you are struggling to hold to your faith. Maybe you have been waiting a long time for God to answer your prayer and you are growing tired and beaten up by the storm that is raging around you…to the place where you just don't think you can hold on anymore. May I encourage you, to first let go of what hasn't happened, to anticipate what is about to happen. When you can see your situation in this way; then the desire of your heart will come alive again within you, which will allow you to hold tightly to the rock of faith. We all face times such as these; but when we can hold tightly to the desire of our heart…and not allow ourselves to be caught up in what hasn't happened yet; then that desire will always keep us connected to faith, even when nothing seems to be happening.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God's got you and the situation you're facing!
God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
