Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I hope that you are enjoying a beautiful autumn day…and I pray that you will truly come to see through this God inspired writing; that we can rejoice in all things…knowing that God is ALWAYS there for us…no matter what may come our way…Amen!!
Last night, I was thinking on how we as humans view the world we live in. When times are hard and difficult, we are drawn into sadness and maybe some tears; while on the other hand…when times are good, we seem to be automatically drawn into happiness and a smile. Now let me ask you…what if there was a way that you could rejoice all the time, even when you feel as though everything is crumbling down around you. Would you be interested in knowing how?
As I was thinking on this some more; God began to take me back to a few Bible verses that He had shared with my heart, while walking through some of the hardest and most difficult times of my life…and they are found in 2 Corinthians 12:8-10, and we read… "For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
I will never forget the reaction I had to these verses, when I read them for the very first time. After reading them, I remember saying to the Lord… "How can I rejoice, while living with this pain?" I'll tell you…this just didn't make any sense to me at all…that is until God took me back to the final ending of verse 9, which says… "…that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
It was that day; that I came to see that it wasn't the pain itself that God was asking me to rejoice over; but rather, it was the thought that I had someone of great power and strength with me at that time…to help me through the pain I was facing. You see…it's not something good that we rejoice in alone; but rather, it's the good through the bad; that also gives us a reason to rejoice; which is what also fills our hearts with hope…in the midst of despair.
Even though we're experiencing these hard and difficult times right now…and even though we can feel as though God has abandoned us…He hasn't; for we must remember that His power is not seen in a way that we may expect it to be seen; but rather, His power becomes more evident in areas of weakness. In other words…He is felt and seen, when we feel as if we aren't making it…but yet we are, which is His almighty hand holding us up throughout these difficult times.
We must also realize that God makes good use of the works of Satan…to accomplish His own purpose in life; so what may appear to be defeated or destructive in this world…only becomes an opportunity for God to do something even greater, than what we could have ever imagined…and this is why we shouldn't judge God's work and what He may be up to, with our own human eye; for this is what can take a heart of rejoicing away from us, while replenishing our hearts with even more discouragement and despair.
One other thing we must remember; is that even though God may respond to our request with a "No;" that doesn't mean that we have been rejected by Him and that these times will only worsen; but rather, that means that He has something different in mind…and while we wait on God to act…in the way that He has desired for us and this world; we can find His grace sufficient to see us through these times.
When we can truly let go of everything that is taking place around us and let God have His way; then I believe that we won't focus so much on this world…or even on our own personal lives. Also, I believe that we won't find ourselves viewing these times as something that could possibly cripple our spirits; but rather, I believe that we will find ourselves living in perfect peace and freedom…knowing that the power of Almighty God is resting upon our very souls and this world. When we can view our lives and the world in this way; then God's strength will replace a weakness that once attempted to keep us low…and from there…that perfect strength will keep us uplifted, during these hard and difficult times of life; that we may be able to truly find a reason to rejoice, even while facing the worst of times.
Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
