Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! What a beautiful autumn day outside my window this morning! I hope that you are enjoying this season to…and I pray that we will ALWAYS pursue the good things in life…no matter what may surround us at the time…Amen!!
While I was spending some time with God over the weekend; He was reminding me, as to how easy it can be to get off the beaten path, during times such as these, which only ends up placing us on a detour road…one that only seems to take us away from a powerful God, to experience another power…the power of evil.
As I was thinking on this last night, God began to take it a step further, as He began to lead me to a couple Bible verses in Proverbs 4:14-15, which says… "Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15) Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away." As I read each word, I began to clearly see, as to how we can easily become drawn into every detail of what is happening in this world; that before we realize it, we have walked away from the presence of God, to enter an unknown territory…one that only takes our thoughts and feelings away from the peace we once had…to lead us down other roads of depression, worry, fear and discouragement.
You know…I agree that we need to understand what is going on in this world to a certain degree; but at the same time, I have found that when we become deeply embedded in what is taking place around us; then we also find ourselves in a place where Satan can have the advantage over us. We need to realize that the only way that our feelings and emotions can be safely kept away from moments such as these; is to flee from evil and not be attached to it.
I just wonder…do we realize how our eyes and ears can sometimes allow our minds and hearts to be filled with anxiety and fear? Now wouldn't you say that if we allow ourselves to be deeply drawn away from the peaceful presence of God…to pursue the evil that is taking place around us; that our hearts and minds would also reap the negativity of these moments to? In Psalm 34:14, we read… "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." So we find in this verse…that the only way we are going to experience peace in the midst of an evil world; is to turn away from what is taking place in this world…and pursue a peace that only God can give us…a peace that can carry us through all of this chaos.
Lately, I have truly found that when I turn away from all the evil and wicked things that are taking place around me…and only allow myself to see and listen to what is important; then the God of peace continues to be there with me…no matter what may be taking place around me. Let's face it…the only way we are going to spiritually and emotionally make it through all that is happening right now; is to avoid the roads that can easily draw us deeper into the evil of this world.
One thing God gave me, while writing last night is this… "Fleeing from evil will keep us from being drawn into evil." So people…there is a way to experience peace, even in the midst of the storm…and that is when we allow ourselves to be drawn into the presence of God, rather than the muck and mire of evil…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
