Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! I sure hope that your day is off to a great start…and if it isn't, I pray that you will come to see that taking one moment…and one day at a time with God, can bring peace, even in the midst of whatever you are facing at this time…Amen!!
The other night…just before going to bed, I was thinking on how life wouldn't seem so out of control…with all that is taking place in this world right now; if only we could live each day, to where each new step leads us. I believe that part of being overwhelmed with life; is when we let our thoughts jump into our tomorrows. If we are ever going to allow God to do the leading in our lives; then we must give all of our attention to where He has led us for the moment…and never allow ourselves to get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow.
Last night, as I was spending some time alone with God, I began to look through some Bible verses…and as I did; God began to lead me to a favorite verse of mine in Matthew 6:34, which reads… "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." In other words…we have enough to deal with in one day, so we need to let go of the uncertain days that lie ahead of us, so we can remain closely and daily in sync with God, rather than where our thoughts are attempting to lead us. Once we can truly do this; that is when God will be given the space He needs, to help us deal with whatever may come our way…when that times comes.
You know…there was a time in my life, when I was facing some very difficult moments of recovery. I found that when I looked at the time it would take to recover; then I would only become even more discouraged, so I told myself that I would just take it one day at a time…and only keep my thoughts on the things of that one day. Then from there, I began to tell myself that each day that had come to an end; would be one less day of recovery. Now it's been around 10 years, since the time that those difficult moments had attempted to take me down.
You see…some of the negative feelings we can face during times such as these, can come about…just by opening up our thoughts to what our tomorrows could possibly be. In other words…when our thoughts step into a day that hasn't yet arrived; we are actually stepping into unknown territory…and once we enter this imaginary world of thought; that is when I believe that Satan does to; and from there…he has a way of filling in the blanks, to every question we imagine. Also…when we choose to step into this imaginary world of thought; then this only takes us away from the real world and the real faith that we should have in God…to enter an unreal world…one that Satan longs to use, as a means of dragging us down other paths of worry, doubt and fear.
Yes…I have to admit that these days that we are living in aren't looking that good at this time; but when we become anxious about a tomorrow that hasn't even arrived; then we only find ourselves focusing on other things that may never happen, which only takes us further away from the One who can help us to transition into our tomorrows.
Today…maybe you are struggling to take hold of all that seems to be coming your way in this world. May I encourage you by saying…that there is a way to cope…a way that can take you away from stress and anxiety and lead you to a place of peace…but that can only be found, when you choose to take life one step and one day at a time…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and remember that God will ALWAYS be there, for every new tomorrow!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
