Lately, I have been facing one thing after another with my health. It seems like if it isn't one thing, than it's another…or it seems as if one problem clears up…only to make way for something else to happen. No…I'm not complaining…and no, I haven't lost my faith…and no, I haven't left God; but sometimes we just seem to be so hammered by evil; that it's not always easy to understand why God allows us to go through so much in life. One thing that God is reminding me of today; is that life as a Christian isn't going to be easy…but it will be worth it in the end.
Have you ever wondered why we suffer as Christians? I know that some believe that life as a Christian should never go wrong…as if we are locked into a perfect world of our own…but this just isn't true. Throughout a long life of pain and deep heartache, I have come to see two things. The first one…is that as a Christian, we will face storms and difficult battles…and it's not because we have been forsaken by God; but rather, it's because Satan…our opposition, is attempting to take us away from God.
The second thing that I have come to see throughout my life; is how we learn and mature spiritually through moments of suffering. As I look back on my life, I can see a difference from where I once was, to where I am now; because there was a time in my life, where I definitely wasn't able to cope with what I was going through…but now I can…and why…because even though the climb was difficult many years back; there has been much learned along the way…and now I see how it could have only happened through moments of suffering. Yes…it isn't always easy; but it can be done, with the help of a God who is greater than these problems we face.
We must remember that even though God allows suffering in our lives; He does have complete control over everything we face…and one thing I know…He will not allow these hard times to destroy us; otherwise, I wouldn't be here…writing you today.
You know…when we face difficult times in our lives…these moments have a way of whispering discouraging thoughts within our minds and hearts…thoughts that attempt to convince us that nothing good will ever come out of these moments; but in Romans 8:18 it says…"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
Now if we were to stop weighing or sizing up the situation we're facing by itself and put these difficult times on a scale, with eternity on the other side of the scale; I believe that hope would once more spring alive within us…a hope that says that the moments of suffering will never compare or outweigh the glory that will be revealed to us in the end.
Today, we can feel as if we are walking down endless paths…that only seem to lead us from one problem to another; but we must remember that God is there for us and He will walk us through these narrow passageways of life and He will be there to remove every obstacle that's attempting to keep us from the journey set before us; so never give up…but rather, continue to press on, as God makes a way for you…for in the end, you will see that eternity was worth it all!
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God is there for you…no matter what you may face in life!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
