Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Thursday to you all! I truly hope and pray that your day is off to a good start…and even more, I pray that you will always know in your heart; that no matter what you may be experiencing at the time…God ALWAYS prevails…Amen!!
Before getting around this morning, I was sitting in the living room…having a talk with Keith; and I was sharing with him, as to how the struggle has become even greater, when it comes to my health. It seems as though the things I once did with ease, have now become more difficult for me to do…and not only that; but these moments of great pain and tiredness have also made me feel as if I am struggling to keep the heart that God once gave me. Moments such as these can make a person feel as if there is a battle raging deep within the soul…one that longs to overtake a persons life and lead them down a path that can make them feel as if they are being led to a pit of destruction and defeat.
We must remember that the one who has truly given their life to Christ is going to face battles such as these; but even though these battles can make us feel as if we won't make it…there is a solution to this problem…a remedy that can actually become a weapon that can overtake evil and allow the good within us to triumph…and this solution is found in 3 different Bible verses.
The first Bible verse that can help us during these difficult times of struggle is found in Proverbs 3:27, and we read…"Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil." In other words…don't become sidetracked by evil, by looking for what is taking place at the time. Instead of studying the situation, we must remove our foot from the path of evil and do what Psalm 34:14 says… "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." When we can let go of what evil is attempting to do to us and pursue something good; then a new weapon has been formed that can strike a blow to the face of evil. Also…instead of pursuing the problem, we must do as this Bible verse says and seek peace and pursue it. We might as well realize that when we do the opposite and pursue evil; then this is what will draw us closer to the enemy…so do as Romans 12:21 says… "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
You know…I fully understand how these battles we face in life can become so real…to the place where we can find ourselves easily believing that we will be defeated; but that is only because we are too busy focusing on what the enemy is doing, rather than what our mighty warrior, Jesus Christ is about to do.
One thing we need to do, during difficult times such as these…is to remember what side of the battle we're fighting on and focus on what God can do to win these battles for us. Once we choose to go into battle with God…focusing completely on winning the battle; then we will come to see how this alone can weaken the enemy. Also…we must be carrying the right weapons into battle and if we aren't carrying the weapons of peace and goodness with us; then we will become as prey to the enemy…so take some time and regroup…and take the Lord God almighty with you into these battles you're facing…and one thing I know…the power of good will overtake the power of evil…and these battles we face will be won, through Jesus Christ our Lord…Amen!!
Have a very blessed day…and I'll look forward to another day of God's encouragement, as we aim to overcome the evil that is attempting to overtake us!
