Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Friday to you all! I pray that you're having a good start to this brand new day…and that you will come to truly see that no matter what you may be experiencing at the time; that God is there for you…and that you are never alone…Amen!
So many times, we tend to size up a circumstance and allow it to convey a message to us that says that we are alone and won't make it. In fact…lately I have come to see how we can easily experience times such as these, with all that is happening in this world; but as we begin our time together, I would like to start out by reminding you that you are never alone…for there is One who has promised to never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6)…no matter what you may face, so reflect on this thought today.
You know…throughout my life, God has used many Bible verses to lift me out of a deep dark pit of despair; but the one that He has used the most in my life is found in Psalm 14:18, and we read… "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."
Sometimes I think that we forget that God is there for us, which can convince us even more that there is nothing or no one that can make the difficult times better; and from there…that is where we seem to be led down a long path of loneliness and despair. Just think…when we watch the news…our thoughts are being filled with so many opinions and negativity; that after watching the news for a while, our minds begin to translate these discouraging thoughts to our hearts…and from there, we begin to feel like a child who has been left alone in the dark.
Today, if you are feeling stranded and alone in the rubble of a broken world, may I encourage you to look back to an old rugged cross and focus on One who never gave up on you there…One who continues to reach out in love to you…even to this day. One thing that I've been reminded of quite often throughout my life; is that God would have never given up His only Son, Jesus Christ at the cross…just so He could walk away and abandon us now. Yes…others walk away…and the dark moments of despair that attempt to surround us, have a way of convincing us that we are alone; but when we choose to look beyond what is taking place at the time and look up to Jesus…that is when we begin to experience a love that can lift us above the rubble of this broken world and shelter us through these troubled times.
We must remember that even though Jesus isn't here in human form…and isn't able to sit down and have a good talk with us…His Spirit does remain alive within us; and that Spirit that lives within us, will constantly walk with us through these broken times…and once we come to truly see that He is there…right beside us; that is when our hearts will begin to shift in a different direction…a direction that will reassure us that even though we live in a lonely world…we really aren't alone.
Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to be with you again on Monday!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
