The hard times of life have a way of convincing us that nothing will ever change. I remember a time in my life, when I had fallen to ground zero…feeling that all hope was gone…and that nothing was ever going to get better; but these were actually the moments that brought me to a place in my life, when all I could do was look up to God. Many times we feel that the hard times have defeated us; but I would like you to know today; that these are the moments when God allows us to fall, so we can look up to Him…and find Him to be our complete source of hope and help.
A few Bible verses that have kept me standing throughout my life are found in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, and we read… "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9) persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10) We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body."
We must remember that even though we are surrounded and battered by troubles…hope hasn't been lost completely; because even though we are not sure of what is happening or what we should do; we still know what God can do; for God never leaves our side…no matter how bad it may get.
We must also remember that as followers of Christ; that the battles will attempt to rage on and take us down… but just as Jesus went through great moments of temptation…along with all that had been done to Him; in the end, His resurrection from death, made Him even more evident to us. Our lives are at constant risk for Jesus' sake; but moments such as these are what actually allows Jesus' life to shine through us…that is, if we will allow Him to work through the difficult times in this way.
The hope and encouragement that I would like to give you today is this; no matter what you are facing…and no matter how bad it may appear to be…hope hasn't been lost…and defeat is not around the corner; for God is taking you to a place where you can look up to Him, rather than out to what is standing before you; and when you can truly believe in the glory that was revealed through the moments of pain and suffering that Jesus endured; then you too, will be able to have an expectant heart…knowing that the light of His presence will also be revealed through these darkened moments of despair.
Have a very blessed day!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
