The other day, as I was sitting here in my office, a question came to my thoughts which is this… "Why are we looking for something more in our lives, when we have it all with Jesus Christ?" Have you ever stopped to think on this...here we have a God who holds all resources within His mighty hands…a God who knows everything about us…and even how to fix the broken moments in our lives; but yet, we continue to look elsewhere, for something that may never be.
I remember a time, when I was talking with someone through the ministry, who had been through a lot of pain in their life…and as we began to share some thoughts with each other; this person started out by telling me that they had learned to turn often to God and give it all to him; but as we continued our visit, the conversation began to take a turn in another direction…one that would take God out of the picture…to seek another means of help that would take them possibly into Satan's territory.
Oh how easily we speak words that claim God as our helper; but do we truly believe that He is our portion…and everything we need in life? In Psalm 16:5, we read… "You, LORD, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands."
As I have been thinking on the words that God placed within my spirit the other day; my thoughts went beyond what God had given me…and I began to wonder why we accept Jesus into our lives…only to tuck Him down deep within the heart and leave Him there, while we pursue something that we feel can help us instead. How is it that we ask for Jesus' help…only to turn around and either go back to the wallowing hole of despair or follow after other things in life that may never be the complete cure we need for the brokenness within?
The way that I have truly come to see it throughout my life; is that we are either going to claim Jesus as our Savior all the way…or not at all. I have come to see that Jesus isn't someone to be stored up within the heart; but He's One who longs to enter our hearts and become everything…for everything we need.
The encouragement that I would like to give you today; is to not let your circumstances sidetrack you and take you away from the One who can truly be the complete remedy you need right now. Jesus is reaching out to you at this very moment; but are you reaching back? In other words…do you trust Him enough to let go of everything except for Him? I believe that when we can come to truly believe in Jesus…and what He can do within our lives; that is when we will never find the need to reach out to any other thing…and why…because our hearts will be satisfied…knowing that we already have it all.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS remember that God is there for you…waiting to become the complete remedy for your need!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
