As I'm sitting here this morning, my thoughts are going back to a time in my life, when I was the one that always felt the need to have complete control over everything I was facing at the time. I guess that the one thing that made me respond to my problems in this way; was the need to always keep tabs on what was going on in my life, which only kept me in charge, rather than God.
Through time…God began to open up something new to me in John 14:6, and we read… "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." As God began to take me through this Bible verse in great depth…I then began to see that He was the only way to freedom…and it was definitely not through me. I also began to see more clearly how I needed His words of truth, to keep me from the lies and deception that Satan was using to place me in bondage with myself . From there, I came to realize that I also needed Jesus to breathe new life within me…in a way that would deeply connect me as one with Him, rather than myself or the problem. Have you ever wondered why we feel the need to always be in control of what is happening in our lives? For me, I have come to see that this happens because we are more deeply connected with what is taking place at the time, which only allows Satan to step in and take us away from the One who can truly help us. We must realize today that we cannot reach the presence of God, while turning inwardly to our own thoughts and ways…for turning inwardly only creates a dead end road that keeps us tied up within ourselves. If we could fix every problem that we would face in life; then I would say that there would be no need of God. In fact…we can take it a step beyond that…and say that there would have been no need for Jesus to die and give up Himself for us so freely on the cross. The encouragement that I would like to leave with you today; is to not think that you can control something that already seems to have control over your life. We must remember that a humble heart is what is needed, to take us before the presence of God…and when that humble heart begins to truly believe that Jesus is the only way that can lead us out of despair…and when that humble heart begins to believe that Jesus' truth is the only truth that can free us from deception …and finally…when that humble heart begins to believe that Jesus is the only One that can breathe new life within us; then that is what will take us before the One who can make all things right again within our lives. Have a very blessed day! It's Always & Only Because of Him… Diane Return Back to the Main Page Comments are closed.
