Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Tuesday to you all! I pray that your week is off to a great start…and that you will truly experience hope through this God inspired writing…a hope that can help you to soar above the despair that may be surrounding you at this time…Amen!!
As we begin our time together today, let me ask you a few questions. Do you really know the Lord well enough to trust Him? Have you experienced His presence in your life…in a way that can reassure you that everything will always be ok? Do you see Him as a safe haven, where you can let go of whatever may be bothering you…to settle back and relax, while He works on your behalf?
You know…I think that if we could stop taking refuge in the brokenness that surrounds us in this world…and have trust in God…to the place where we can truly take refuge in Him; then I would say that it wouldn't matter so much, as to what is happening around us.
Last night, as I was looking through some Bible verses, God led me to a couple verses in Psalm 9:9-10, which says… "The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. 10) And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." I believe that when we choose to build a strong and lasting relationship with Christ…and allow ourselves to experience His love, mercy and compassion, rather than what is taking place at the time; then I would say that we would be more likely to count on Him, to always be there for us…no matter what may be happening at the time. In this way, I believe that we would always find ourselves running in His direction, rather than seeking shelter in a broken down situation.
As I look back on my life, I remember a time when I found myself seeking shelter in what was taking place at the moment. This shelter I was residing in, was like a broken down shack. It appeared as though this broken down shack didn't have a good roof on it…and the window panes and doors were missing, which made it difficult for me to fully escape the storms that surrounded me. As I found myself sitting in these moments of despair…moments that were so dark and blackened by the storms I was experiencing; God began to enter those moments…and He began to show me that I could take refuge in Him…to a place where I could be surrounded by the light of His presence, rather than the storms that were attempting to take me down.
You know…these times that we are facing right now can make it so easy to become deeply distressed and discouraged; but when we know that there is a place where we can be safely protected from these stormy elements; then I would say that we wouldn't find ourselves sitting in the brokenness of what is taking place around us…to the place where we just may might want to give up.
No matter what you are feeling or facing today; just know that there is a place of refuge…a place where you can enter a safe haven and find peace and rest from these storms…and all you have to do; is stop allowing yourself to become caught up in these stormy moments. Instead of seeking shelter in what seems to be broken down and unsafe…why not let God be your safe house…a sanctuary during the hard and difficult times of life…and once you arrive, I guarantee that you will find peace, even in the midst of these storms…a peace that will help you to relax and never regret that you came knocking at His door.
Have a very blessed day…and ALWAYS know that God is ALWAYS there for you!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
