How many times have we found ourselves living in days that don't even exist? It seems that we find ourselves letting go of one day, to venture into the unknown days that haven't even arrived yet. We wonder this and question that…and even imagine something happening that may not even happen. How is it that we just can't live one day at a time…the day that God has laid before us to walk through?
As I look back on my life, I remember times when my mind would not only be in Sunday night…but Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to. As I would think on what could possibly take place or go wrong; I found myself trapped in moments that God hadn't even created for me to live, which in the end overwhelmed my life and made it seem so out of control.
Don't we realize that God created life in such a way…that we may easily cope and deal with one thing at a time? Even though we may know this in our minds; we still seem to allow our thoughts to venture out and allow life to become more than what God first intended it to be. Why do we choose to do that?
In Matthew 6:34…Jesus is encouraging us by saying… "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." In other words…God is gently reminding us that we have enough to deal with in one day…so don't add to it; because when we do…that is when all of these unknown and uncreated moments begin to pile up on top of what we are already facing, which only overwhelms us and keeps us out of sync with God.
You know…I think the reason why we tend to let our minds and hearts walk into the darkened and unknown moments of future days; is because we feel the need to keep a close eye on our lives…and just maybe this is our way of protecting ourselves from other troubles that may arise. We must remember that God already knows what's down the road for us…and He's already there…making the way, as we continue to live in the day that He created for us to live in at that moment. Just think…if we could only let go and leave everything with God; then just imagine, as to how much easier life could be.
As we begin another new week, may I encourage you to walk in the footprints that God has laid out before you? When we take life one day and one step at a time; that is when I truly believe that life won't be so overwhelming; but rather, it will be filled with peace…and a feeling that everything will be just fine.
Have a very blessed day…and I will see you tomorrow, as we walk together into another new day!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
