Hello everyone…what a great day the Lord hath made…let us reach forth to what He has blessed us with and be glad in it! I don't know about you; but I praise God for each brand new day He sets before me! Just think…we don't have to remain in the days that can be filled with hurt and disappointment; but rather, we have the opportunity to step into a new day…one that can erase those hurts and disappointments and bring about new possibilities…Amen!!
The other day, as I was spending time with God; there was a thought that He brought to my mind and it was this… "Let go of today…to take hold of tomorrow." Immediately, I found myself writing this down and thinking to myself, as to how life…with all it's difficulties, could be so much easier, if we were only willing to let go at the end of a day and prepare our minds for something brand new. This morning, as I was looking through God's word, He led me to a few Bible verses in Proverbs 4:25-27, and we read… "Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. 26) Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. 27) Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil." How many of us can say that we are looking straight ahead, rather than lingering behind with the difficult moments of a day. Can we say that we are walking through life, in a way where we are anticipating what may be around the corner…or have the moments that went wrong convinced us to stop and quit anticipating what may be ahead of us? Recently, I was talking with someone and I was asking them about their day. Their response was this… "Today was a good day…everything got finished…praise God! Now, I am preparing my mind for another work day tomorrow." As I listened to every word…I thought to myself…I wonder how many of us could find the strength to do this at the end of a day. In other words…are we willing to let go of everything that we took hold of during the day, to mentally and spiritually prepare ourselves for another new day…of new beginnings? You know…sometimes I think that we become so caught up in the difficult moments of a day; that we automatically feel that tomorrow may be just as difficult; but we must remember this… "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23) One thing that I have come to see; is how easily we can fall into the ruts of a bad day…to the place where it can be difficult to get out of those moments and let go; but I have also come to see that there is a way to step out of those ruts and move on…and that comes, when we are willing to focus on the hope and truth that comes from God's word, rather than what these moments are attempting to convey to us. I remember a time, when I had experienced a very hard day. As I sat on the daybed, while preparing to shut things down and go to bed, I remember saying to myself… "It's alright Diane…today may have been hard and difficult to get through; but tomorrow's a new day." It seemed as if that is all it took to revive me and steer my thoughts back in God's direction. Let's face it…none of us are perfect and a difficult day can take hold of tiredness and even other moments that we are already facing, which can easily make life seem hopeless; but if we could only remind ourselves to look to a new day and let go of the moments we've already faced; I know that we will find it easier to keep moving forward in life, so we can experience the new possibilities that God has awaiting us; so never give up…but rather, let go of today…to take hold of another new day…one that can walk you away from despair…and one that can draw you even closer to the blessings that God has awaiting you! Have a very blessed day…and I will hope to see you tomorrow! God bless! It's Always & Only Because of Him… Diane *This Friday…July 30th, I am going to be posting a very special writing, as it is not only my birthday; but my time of celebrating life…and even more…God's faithfulness in my life. I hope you will come and join me in this celebration, as I look back to the many painful moments that God has brought me through!
