This morning, as I've been spending some quiet moments alone with God…my thoughts were taken back to a song…and these were the words that entered my mind… "Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home. When Jesus is my portion, my constant Friend is He; oh, his eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me."
The times that we are living in right now can sometimes create worry and even cause us to wonder how we will make it through this life. These moments of circumstance definitely have a way of conveying a message; that when believed…only leads our hearts and minds to worry, doubt and fear.
As I continued to make note of what God was laying on my heart this morning; He also led me to a few of my favorite Bible verses in Matthew 6:25-27, which reads… "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
Ask yourself today…why do you find yourself instantly discouraged, when the hard times hit you? Why do you choose to walk into the dark shadows of worry, doubt and fear? Why do you feel alone, during the hard and difficult times; and even more…why do you feel heaven is the solution, when God is always with us?
One thing I love about my small office; is that I can sit on a daybed and look directly out my window…to a yard that is filled with nature. As I watch the birds and observe them; I see how their faith can be greater than mine at times. Just think…they have nothing…and they store up nothing; but yet they come…anticipating something; and because of this they find what they are looking for. Now if God takes care of these birds in such a way and allows them to find the daily food they need; then why wouldn't He do even more for us, as we are even more valuable to Him than the birds of the air.
I think the reason why we don't always receive from God; is because we have put up 3 roadblocks…which like I said before are worry, doubt and fear. In other words…we seem to focus so much more on the circumstance; that this alone begins to allow worry to enter our thoughts; then as we worry…doubt seems to follow, until we begin to fear what could be ahead of us, which actually stops God from working in our lives. If we could only see God for who He truly is…a strong and mighty God…One who is greater than any circumstance that may attempt to stand tall before us; then we would be able to allow our faith to keep the road open between us and God…to the place where He could enter and provide for us from His many resources.
Have a very special day…and ALWAYS remember that God is everything…for everything you need!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
