Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I hope that your day is going well…and even more, I pray that you will truly come to see and experience God's sustaining presence in your life…no matter what you may be facing today…Amen!!
Before we begin, I would like to share something with you that God has recently placed upon my heart. Lately, He has been giving me the words to help and encourage us all during these troubling times; but as of yesterday, I have been feeling led to write on a more personal level; where you, the reader can step out of the troubles that may be surrounding you…either in your life or in this world…to experience a place of refuge…one that can help you to connect more deeply with God and feel safe and secure in Him…so let's begin and let God lead the way.
The other day, while spending some quiet moments alone with God, I began to really see how the majority of my life has been spent being knocked down or taken back a step or two, which means that I've lived a life of struggles. Even though my life hasn't been an easy one; there has always been something that has nudged me back into life, while helping me to rise back up to my feet and press on; which over time, I have found to be the God I now serve.
You know…it's amazing, as to how a circumstance can make us feel as if it will win out and defeat us. Even though we experience feelings such as these, we must remember that God is on the other side of that problem…working to lead us in His direction, which with time…we do come to eventually see.
As I was spending some quiet moments alone with God last night, He led me to a couple Bible verses in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, which says… "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;"
I don't know about you; but lately, I have felt so battered and beaten up by the health issues that I daily face…but it's not because of some sin in my life; but rather, it's because of a battle I've been facing for a long time, as a means of remaining committed to Christ. I know the culprit…and it isn't God; but rather, it's the opposition, which is Satan. Even though there are times when his blows can seem fierce, I realize that he hasn't destroyed me…so I get back up, with the strength of my God…and this becomes the weapon that counteracts his fiery darts…which sends a more powerful blow in his direction…to knock him down, while I remain standing.
Just like you…I can experience overwhelming blows from the evil one; that can make me feel as if I have lost the battle; but then I begin to see how God keeps me standing in the midst of it all…and this becomes a reminder to me; that Satan's deceptive thoughts…thoughts are meant to deceive me and make me feel as if life is over for me, are really not true; because you see, I may feel cast down; but I also know that I haven't been destroyed.
In this day and age we're living in, we can feel so surrounded and battered by troubles; but hope isn't gone… because of a powerful God that surrounds us, even in the midst of trouble. Even though we may experience times, when we just don't know what to do; God knows what to do. These terrorizing feelings we experience from the evil one, can make us feel as if God has left us; but He hasn't…it's just that the problem has become a dense fog before us…attempting to make us feel that God is no longer there.
If you are feeling as if life is almost over for you…and you can't handle one more thing; then take a good look at yourself. You may have been thrown down on your face by the evil one; but you haven't been destroyed. Your heart continues to beat and your body continues to function….and even more, the presence of God continues to fight on your behalf.
My prayer…as we close this time together; is that we won't become so caught up in a deceptive thought that says that life is over; but rather, I pray even more that we will come to see our lives for what they really are…and know that with God's strength…we can rise again and continue down that path towards heaven…Amen!
Have a very blessed day…and just know that God is on the other side of your problem…waiting for you to find Him…and the freedom that He longs to give you from that problem!
God bless…and I will look forward to our visit tomorrow!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
