Where Is God? | Has He Deserted Me?

11/22/2021

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! How are you doing today? I sure hope that your day is off to a good start…and I pray that no matter what you may be facing; that you will always be open to that still small voice that comes from God…a voice that can speak to your heart and help you during times of need…Amen!!
After a relaxing weekend, I decided to spend some time alone with God last night and seek His guidance for the writing today. As I did…He took me back to a time in my life, when I first began to truly experience His presence…and it wasn't in a dramatic way; but rather it was His still small voice that began to enter my spirit and lead me down a road that would eventually walk me right into this ministry.
You know…we must remember that God doesn't always make Himself known in the way that we expect Him to. I have come to see over the years that we can easily become discouraged…and even come to believe that God has deserted us…all because we are so fixed on a thought, of how we feel God will work in our lives.
Before I go any further, I would like to share a couple Bible verses with you; that have truly touched my heart over the years…and they are found in I Kings 19:11-12, and we read… "And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: 12) And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice." Just as Elijah experienced…God doesn't always make Himself known in a spectacular way; for He's also in the still and quiet moments of life; but the question we need to ask ourselves is this… "Are we listening for that still small voice that comes from a great and mighty God?
Over the past fifty some years of my life, I have experienced many knee dislocations…much pain and numerous surgeries, due to a problem from birth. Many times, I cried out to God for help; but instead of working in a way that I thought He would; He chose to work through the problem that I was born with, along with much brokenness from the past; so I could have a heart to encourage others who are hurting to.
You know…we don't always understand why some people have it easier than others; but I have come to see that when we choose to stop figuring out God's ways…and open up our hearts to that still small voice of God; then we do find the answers to life's questions…and we also learn to listen more to God throughout our lives, rather than always listening to ourselves. I know one thing…there would be no words for me to write today…or any day; if first, I hadn't learned what it's like, to listen to the still small voice of God within my spirit.
Maybe today, you are feeling discouraged, due to a very trying circumstance in your life…and maybe you're even feeling as if God has forgotten you; because nothing spectacular has taken place, to free you from these difficult times. May I encourage you, to get alone with God…and just sit quietly in His presence. Don't say a word…don't think about the time…or any other thing; but open yourself up completely to God…and give Him the space He needs to enter and speak to your heart. One thing I know without a doubt; is that when you choose to sit quietly in God's presence…and anticipate His next move, rather than your next thought; that is when He will come and work through your thoughts and your heart, in a way that you have never experienced before.
Have a very blessed day…and always remember to let go of everything except for God; so you can experience His presence, rather than the presence of the problem!
God bless…and I'll see you tomorrow!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
