Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! You know…as I was sitting here this morning…thinking on this brand new week, I also began to think on those who may still be waiting on God to help them through a circumstance. Maybe there are some of you who are still in the waiting room with God, after entering this room within the past weeks. If so, my prayer for you today is that these God inspired words will give you that ump you need, to keep waiting on Him…Amen!!
As we begin our time together today, I would like to start out by sharing a Bible verse with you from Psalm 37:7, and we read… "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass."
You know…waiting on God to work in our lives can make it seem like we are in a hospital waiting room. While we are sitting in God's presence…waiting for Him to fix what's been broken…all sorts of things can enter our minds. In fact…we can begin to worry and our anxiety can even reach an all time high; but one thing God has shown me; is that He is not only the great physician of our bodies…but of our hearts and minds too; and no matter what attempts to overtake us and keep us wounded in spirit…the hope we can cling to; is that these evil deeds must bow down before His powerful presence.
There is one thing that I try to encourage others with, while they are waiting for God to fix a very broken moment in their life…and that is to turn their worry into prayer. Don't we realize that prayer can take us away from anxiety and lead us to a place where we can truly find peace and rest in God's presence? In Philippians 4:6-7, we read… "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Don't we realize that God already understands our concerns and what is hurting us deeply? If we do; then why do we worry? Don't we realize that worry only keeps us connected to what is broken in our lives, while allowing Satan to fill in the blanks to every imaginary thought? When we can allow prayer to create a place where we can truly find rest and a safe haven in God; then the waiting will be much easier to endure.
Another thing that I would like to share with you as we close; is that it can be very difficult at times to know what God is up to, while we tend to wonder if He is doing anything at all to help us; but the thing that He has taught me the most; is that we can find rest in Him, while facing these unknown and difficult times, when we hold to the hope that comes from Psalm 34:18…which says… " The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Maybe today, you have been in the waiting room for a long time…and believe me, I understand; but no matter what pain or hardship we may have to endure while we wait; we can rest assured that we have the greatest physician working on our behalf…and at just the right time…He will step into the waiting room and give us the answers that we have been waiting for…for so long; so never up on life; but rather, let prayer lead you to a place of sweet rest…a place where you can quietly wait, until His work as been made complete in you.
Have a very blessed day…and I will look forward to our visit tomorrow! God bless!
