How often do we stop to think that God's ways are much higher than ours? It seems like we are so accustomed to how we feel a problem should be resolved; that we never stop to think that God may have something different in mind…something that is much higher than what our minds can perceive.
This morning, while looking through some Bible verses; God led me to a couple verses in Isaiah 55:8-9, which reads… "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
I think the greatest thing that I have come to see throughout my life; is that God's ways are much higher than mine. I remember a time in my life, when Keith and I would pray and pray for God to heal the knee problems that I had been born with…because I knew that this would be the perfect plan that could help to resolve every issue I was having at the time.
As the years went by…there was still no healing…and it wasn't because of a lack of faith and belief in what my God could do; but rather, it was because God had something else in mind. In other words…His thoughts and ways were already high above mine…and He had already known from the day of my birth; that these congenital knee problems, could be used to give me a heart for others who hurt and go through overwhelming moments of circumstance…which in the end could also be used to encourage and bring hope to the hopeless.
One thing that I have learned through all of this over the years; is that we can make plans…and yes, we should always have faith; but from there, we must let our thoughts and ideas go into the hands of the One who already knows what's best for us. When we can do this; then we don't have to face disappointment later, if God doesn't work out the problem in the way we thought He would.
No matter what decision God makes for our lives…whether it be in the way we would like it to be…or even in a different way that we did not expect; we can truly trust His ways…for they are much higher and greater than ours. When we can allow God to work in this way; then every piece of our lives will fit together like a puzzle…one that truly reveals God's perfect will for our lives; so make all the plans you want and have faith; but also make room for God to take hold of your thoughts and ideas; so He can work in the best way possible…for just as I have come to see…God's ways are the very best!
Have a very blessed day!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
