This morning, as I look out my window…the leaves are blowing in a gentle breeze; and what appeared at one time to be a cloudy sky…is now giving way to rays of light. Yes…the trees and everything that surrounds me is where it was yesterday; but there's a different feel to the day…one that reveals new moments…moments that seem to be opening me up to a brand new day.
You know…we can experience days, when it seems as if the darkest storm surrounds us…and from there, the winds of circumstance begin to whip us around, while the teardrops of a broken heart fall all around us; but even though these moments seem to make us feel as if the storms will never find their end; a time does come, when these storms do pass us by…to reveal new days…filled with the sunshine of a brand new dawn. This morning, as I've been sitting here…enjoying a peaceful moment with God; He began to show me that even as the trees blow in the wind at one moment; time does change things…to the place, where the leaves once more stand quietly before their maker. Even though these storms attempt to whip these beautiful trees around and shake them to their very core; the leaves still remain in tact…and once the storm has passed by…we see that the tree still remains beautiful, as it was before the storm first began. You know…many times, we can feel as if the storms of life will defeat us and take us down for good; but I have come to see within my own life; that the storms that enter our lives aren't meant to destroy us; but to make us stronger. Just as these beautiful maple trees in our yard withstand the storms that come their way; we too, withstand the storms of our lives…and why…because God has control over the storms we face. This morning, as I've been spending this time with you and God; He has opened up a couple Bible verses to me… that I would like to share with you today…and they are found in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, which reads… "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." In these verses we see several things. First, we see that these storms we face are only momentary storms. In other words…these words are giving us hope and saying that the storms that enter our lives are only going to last for a short time. Second…we see that these storms are not meant to harm us; but to achieve something greater in our lives…something that will keep us strengthened and closer to God, until we reach our eternal home in heaven…and finally, we are being taught to look for what can come out of the storm, rather than the storm itself. One thing I can say to you today; is that focusing on a storm, only makes us believe that these storms will bring defeat and destruction into our lives; but on the other hand…looking for what we haven't quite seen yet through the storm, will help us to pursue and keep pressing on, until we find the reason for the storm. No matter what we face…and no matter how long these storms seem to last; we can find hope in God's word…a hope that can become a lifeline to hold to, until the storm passes by. Have a great day…and ALWAYS know that this too shall pass! It's Always & Only Because of Him… Diane Return Back to the Main Page Comments are closed.
