Words of Encouragement for these Troubling Times

8/25/2021

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I pray that you are doing well today…and that you will ALWAYS know in your heart…that no matter what may come your way…God is already there to handle it for you…Amen!!
Lately, I have found it very difficult to watch what is unfolding before us in this world. It seems as though evil has stepped up a notch and is attempting to prove itself to be one that is greater than us and even God himself.
You know…sometimes we can be so overwrought by the evil that surrounds us; that our spirits can begin to feel that we have been abandoned by God. In fact…we can feel as if these evil deeds that surround us each day, will become so destructive; that we will no longer be able to hold to the hope that we once held so tightly to.
As I was looking through some Bible verses this morning, I was also praying for God to truly speak to my heart with a word of encouragement that would help us all through these troubling times…and the Bible verses that He first began to open up within my heart are found in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, and we read… "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4) Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
Times such as these have a way of wearing on a persons mind and heart…and can even lead us to the point where we wonder why God is not stepping in to help us and free us from these moments; but through these Bible verses in 2 Timothy 3, we see that these times were already predicted thousands of years of ago. In fact…God reminded me that these times that can make us feel so defeated, are what will actually lead us to Jesus' return.
The other day, as I sat here in my office…I was asking God to bring peace to my heart and show me how to handle what is now taking place in this world around me…and as I continued to meditate on that; He began to show me that this isn't a time to be downcast and hopeless; but rather, it's a time to rejoice…for these are the times that will eventually set His children free from the bondage of evil forever. Today, we must shift our thinking and remember that we are the ones who truly have hope…not the ones who have chosen to take the side of evil.
As we face these troubling and uncertain times, we must realize that our lives as Christians are going to be tested and tried; but we must also remember the words of Matthew 24:13, which says… "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." If we could only allow our thoughts to be taken away from what is taking place in this world around us and focus on what is awaiting us; then I believe that the journey wouldn't seem to be such a struggle.
You know…there can be moments when we can feel so angry at what is taking place…and what evil is attempting to do; but if we could only remain focused on where these times are taking us; then I truly believe that we wouldn't experience the feelings that can attempt to make us believe that we will be defeated.
As we close our time together, I would like you to ask yourself this question, from Psalm 42:11, which says… "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." I believe that the only way we are going to emotionally and spiritually survive times such as these; is when we begin to put our hope in the God who has always been there for us…and if we can turn away from these downcast feelings to do so; that is when I believe that a heart of praise will begin to  rise up within us…and take us above these moments that can seem so disturbing.
Have a very blessed day…and no matter what…remember that God is GOD!
God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
