Heart to Heart Blog with Diane K Hiltz Chamberlain
Good evening everyone! Happy Wednesday night…and a big welcome to the Heart to Heart Blog! Seems like I was just with you last night and now another 24 hours has passed and we’re together once more. I hope you had a nice day and that you will enjoy our time together this evening!

Well…this morning was grocery shopping time and what a morning we had…that is, with the taxi driver. Before spending time with God this morning, I decided to call the taxi service; so they could be here around 9:00, to pick up my husband and me for shopping. Before I hung up on the phone, I asked if they could make sure to pull into the driveway, as it was raining a little this morning. I also mentioned that I had 2 bad legs and it would be easier for me, rather than meeting them out by the front curb. They said… “No problem;” so from there, I went to spend some time alone with God for a while.

Later…after I was finished, I left my office, to turn a few lights off and get my coat and shoes ready; so I could just head out the door. Before I knew it…the taxi was in the driveway; so we locked the door and went to get into the car. Usually, I sit in the front, due to the rod in my right leg…which makes it much easier for me to ride.

After getting in the car, I thanked the taxi driver, for pulling up close to the house and then he said… “I see you can walk.” I said… “Yes, I can walk but days like today can make it a little difficult, due to the damp weather.” Then he said… “The dispatcher said to make sure you pull into the driveway because she can’t walk.”  I said… “No, I told him that I have 2 bad legs and it would make it easier, if the taxi driver could pull into the driveway.” By then…we were all laughing…and a little confused! I guess it just hit us all differently. From there, the taxi driver said to me… “I remember picking you up before; but I was a little confused, when they told me that you couldn’t walk because the last time I took you to the store, you were walking.” What a way to start my day…a little confused; but laughing at the same time…lol.

Once we finally got out of the driveway and headed ourselves, in the direction of the grocery store, the taxi driver was still laughing a little and saying that this reminded him of people who share a story and by time it gets to others, it becomes twisted up…and I told him that it reminded me of people who gossip and by time the juicy piece of gossip gets to several others, it can have a whole new gist to the story…and from there we continued to talk and laugh.

Tonight, as I was thinking back to our time with the taxi driver, I was also thinking on what the Bible says on the tongue. In I Peter 3:10, we read… “For whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.”

One thing I have learned, while walking through my own trials; is that if we long to enjoy a better life and be blessed by God; then we must keep our tongues from evil. Do we realize that any form of sin can become a road block; that can block the presence of God, from working in our lives? If we long for God’s healing power to enter our lives and to be truly blessed by Him; then first, we must lay everything to the side; that could become one of these roadblocks.

You know…one thing I was thinking on tonight; is that even though my husband and I can’t drive; I can see where God is allowing us to bring God’s loving spirit, to others in need…even if it is a taxi driver. I am seeing more and more that everything God allows within our lives; is truly for a purpose that only He knows and when we choose to follow in His direction…even though we may not understand His reasoning; then in the end, we will truly come to see how God can work…through anything we may endure in this life.

Well…even though it’s been a mixed bag of everything today…it’s been a good day…and right now, I pray that you too will truly experience God in your life and that your night will be filled with His loving peace. Take care and I will hope to see you again tomorrow evening, as I share thoughts from the day, along with the goodness of a great…loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings so much on your night!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
