Good evening everyone and blessings on your Good Friday! I am so glad that you stopped by the Heart to Heart Blog tonight…and my prayer; is that God will truly touch all of our hearts…in a way; that will not only connect us with Him, during this Easter season…but all year long!
Tonight, as I was thinking on what I would like to share with you, on this Good Friday; one thought came very clearly to my mind, as God was taking me back, to a very special moment in my life…between Him and me…and this evening, I would like to share these very special thoughts and feelings with you…from my heart to yours!
There was a time in my life…quite a few years back, when I was so low…and barely surviving the depth of pain and heartache that I was experiencing at the time. These moments of affliction made me feel, as if I had fallen into a deep dark pit of despair. As I sat in that pit…looking straight up…I began to feel so overwhelmed…just wondering how I was ever going to get out of this pit. Through my own efforts, I began to climb the walls of this pit; but each time I began to climb…I only fell back to the bottom. After several tries, I began to feel hopeless…thinking that this is where I would always be. Finally, I gave in and began to cry out for help. Within a short time, I began to feel as if a hand was now reaching down into the pit…to where I was. As I looked up…a light shone above me and I could now see a hand reaching down, to where I was…and as I began to reach up to where the hand was reaching down to me, I heard a voice say… “Diane, I heard your cries for help…and I came to save you. To some…this story may say that this woman is hearing voices and is out of her head crazy; but to me…it was truly a time, when God heard my cries for help and came to rescue me.
As I think about all that Jesus did for us on the cross; I think of a love that would do anything…and even go the distance, for all of us. His love is so real; that even on the cross; His arms were open to all of us…what love!
No matter what we face in life…we do not have to try and come out of these moments alone; for Jesus not only died to save us from sin; but to also save us from despair. When we are willing to let go and realize that we cannot save ourselves; then Jesus will truly come and meet us, at the place of brokenness…even if we are experiencing that brokenness, in a deep dark pit of despair.
One thing I truly came to see through my own moments of struggle; is that once we let go; Jesus will go the distance to find us and help meet each need…we just need to give Him that chance and be willing to let Him work it out…His way…for He knows what’s best for all of us.
As our visit comes to an end, I would like to share a couple Bible verses with you; that have been of great inspiration, within my own life and they are found in Romans 8:31-32…and we read… “What can we ever say to such wonderful things as these? If God is on our side, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son for us but gave him up for us all, won’t he also surely give us everything else?” These are great questions to ask ourselves this evening. We need to remember that if we truly believe in the love that God has for each of us; then we should also know without a doubt; that nothing or no one can ever come against that power and the love He truly has for us. Also…one other thing…since He was willing to give up the dearest one to Him…His Son Jesus Christ…out of a great love for us; then ask yourself…won’t He always be there for you, in other ways too?
Well…I have truly enjoyed my visit with you tonight and my prayer; is that we will always seek Jesus…above any other thing in our lives and that we will find the strength through Him; to let go of everything…except for Him.
