Good Monday evening everyone…and a big welcome to the Heart to Heart Blog! Well…it’s another beautiful evening outside…and what a better way to end the day; then to spend some peaceful moments with my readers!
This morning…after spending some time alone with God…in memory of all who have given their lives for this country, I decided to do a little ministry work this afternoon. As I was working, I was feeling a little sleepy, from a restless night of pain. As I was thinking a little on my health, which hasn’t been its best lately; God began to show me something new.
First off…how many of us allow our situation to tell the story, as to where this problem may lead us? You know…it’s so easy to focus on symptoms of a problem or thoughts that attempt to convince us that we either won’t make it or that this problem we’re facing could lead us to something much worse; that before we know it…we begin to believe these things, which can actually take us down a road…pointing in a direction of no hope.
I have to admit…lately, I have been feeling much worse than about a year ago. It seems like I’m more tired than I ever was and the pain seems to be taking a great toll on my body; but God reminded me of one thing today…and that is that He has control over me…not the problem. In other words…God determines what happens in my life and when my life will come to an end. In fact, I have noticed one thing lately; that has been quite an eye opener to me and that is how I am able to keep pressing on; despite the depth of pain and tiredness that I experience…which goes to show that God has a grip on me…and He’s in control.
No matter what we face in life; it’s so easy to get caught up in the symptoms of these moments…to the place, where we become convinced that we’re not going to make it, which is really another tactic of Satan’s, to bring us low.
Today…maybe you are facing a similar situation to mine. Maybe you’re thinking to yourself…how much longer can I make it like this? Just know that God has a grip on you too and that no matter how difficult these challenging moments can be…nothing or no one can step over the boundary line; that God has placed around our lives.
In Job 1:9-12, we read…“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” I love these verses because it’s saying exactly, what God reminded me of today…and that is that He does have control over all of our lives. Even though God allowed Satan to afflict Job…He still had control and the boundary lines came up, when He said to Satan…“but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
I don’t know how you are feeling right now; but this time with you this evening, has been of great comfort to my heart and soul. When we can rest in God and know without a doubt; that He has control over every part of our being; then there will be no reason to feel hopeless.
Well…sad to say…it’s time for me to go. I truly hope and pray that your evening will be filled with the loving and peaceful presence of God and that your Tuesday will be truly blessed from above! Take good care and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow evening, as I share more thoughts from my day, along with the goodness of a great, loving and powerful God…heart to heart!
Blessings so much on your night!
