Friday...December 16, 2016

Hello everyone! It’s so good to be back with you today! I can’t believe that it’s already Friday and a week from Sunday is Christmas. Many times do I say to Keith…where did that week go to and then I stop for minute, as though I’m thinking and then I say… “Oh yea…it went with all the busy days and hard work.” Lol
 
Anyways, as I’ve been sitting here today in my office…looking out my window, my mind began to think on the power of God. You know…we really don’t know the full extent of God’s power but it’s good to know that we have a powerful God surrounding us each day. Just think…if we were to focus more on the power of God vs. the so-called power of our circumstances, I think we would find that God’s power far outweighs the problems that Satan is attempting to take us down with.
 
When I sit back and think on the power of God, I find nature to be a great example of His power. Here we sit on a planet that is being suspended in mid-air. God has placed boundary lines around the lakes and oceans, so they don’t flood the earth. Who else but God could raise the sun on half of the earth, while creating darkness everywhere else? Who could paint pastel colors in the shape of a bow, after the rain has come and gone? Who else but God could create clouds that could hold the weight of water, until He chose for the rain to fall and water the earth? Who else but God could speak one word and cause a star to fall from the heavens and who else but God could hide the moon by day, while allowing it to light up the world by night?  If we were to sit here and continue on, I’m sure that we would discover even more things that pertain to the power of God.
 
You know…I wonder why we find it so easy to dissect every detail of the problems we face but yet we completely bypass everything that pertains to the power of a great and mighty God…a God, who is more than powerful enough to help us overcome these weaknesses; that present themselves to us, as though nothing could ever supersede their so-called power.
 
I have come to see God, as a friend that will never walk away from me…a God, who will stand in the gap for me. When I lack strength and know in my heart; that I can’t make it through the day; I know that God will step in and carry me through the day, with a powerful strength that will never stop until I do. I have to tell you today; that there are also moments, when I can barely get my head to the pillow at night, due to the workload from a busy day and there can even be times, when the body is ready to shut down and sleep but yet the mind wants to keep going; but yet, when I ask God to step in and shower me with a powerful peace that can quiet my thoughts…He does and soon I’m fast asleep.
 
You know…Jesus never said that life would be easy but He did say that He would be with us…that is, if we are willing to allow His power to kick in and replace the moments, when we find ourselves short of the strength we once had. I think that if we could just walk beyond the problems we face, rather than dissecting every symptom of the problem; then I’m sure that we would come to experience a God, who could truly lift us up above the problem, with a great and powerful strength.
