Bible Verse for the Day | 2 Corinthians 10:5
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"
Hello everyone…what a beautiful new day! I sure hope that your day is going well too! You know…lately, it seems like my mind has been so cluttered with so much to do; that when I want to relax and think on other things; then there just seems to be no more room for me to focus and take hold of what I may want to think of at the time. I'm sure that you may also have days like this…and I don't know about you; but it can make a person feel even more overwhelmed with life.
As I look at my mind…and all that must take place there, it's as if it is filled with posted thoughts that need to be remembered, while other things are being stored there, that I just can't forget. Then somehow useless thoughts seem to linger behind and only become wasted space. Then to top it off, there are pain waves that are filling the mind…and once everything is combined together; this can create moments that can definitely seem overwhelmingly out of control.
You know…when we allow the thoughts of a day to clutter and fill our minds, with more than the mind can handle; then we just may begin to feel the weight of every thought falling down around us, which can keep the good thoughts from entering the mind.
What we need each day is a good cleansing of the mind…and one thing I have come to see; is that there is no one who can help us with this like Jesus; for He can help us sort through the rubbish, so we can think more clearly…and even more…make room for Him to enter and share in our day.
You know…I think that sometimes the reason why we can't feel God's presence; is because we have given Him no room to enter…and even if we did give Him a small space within our thoughts; then how in the world would we ever be able to hear His still small voice, above all the chaotic thoughts that are swarming around within our minds. We must remember that God created our minds in a way, where we are only able to focus on one thing at a time…so, if our thoughts are going wild, with this thing or that thing; then ask yourself…how can that still small voice be felt and heard within our spirits?
Last night, as I was sitting here in my office, I began to think on one important thing that we must never forget, when it comes to a cluttered mind…and that is that Satan is behind every bit of this…so let's give credit to whom credit is due. I have no doubt that he longs so much to use moments such as these to prevent us from thinking clearly…and if we can't think clearly; then for one thing…we won't be able to focus on God…or even remain connected to Him.
The other night, I had just finished some ministry work…and before going to bed, I began to look around the office, as Keith and I are planning on taking most of the room apart soon, to clean it and also do a different arrangement in the room. As I began to think on how I could do this or do that, I began to see how these thoughts were overwhelming a day that had already been well spent. Finally, I said to myself… "Let it go for now…and get some sleep; it will be there for you to think on tomorrow."
Even right now, I am being reminded, as to how important it is to keep the mind clear and open to God. Let's face it…when thoughts of other things begin to overwhelm us; then they only turn into useless clutter that keeps us from the peace, joy and happiness that God so longs for us to have. If we are ever going to be able to feel and experience the presence of God; then first, we need to let go of the thoughts that only keep us overwhelmed with life…and distant from God's presence.
I don't know about you; but I have truly enjoyed our visit today! You know…sometimes we just need to slow down and sort through the thoughts that may have come from an overwhelming day, so we can think more clearly and find God, rather than a cluttered mess within the mind.
As we close, I hope that you will have a very special day! Take care and know that you are in my daily thoughts and prayers…and please come back and join me tomorrow, for another great God inspired visit! May God truly bless your heart and mind!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
