Bible Verses for the Day | Matthew 11:28-30
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29) Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? Well, we have reached the end of another week…and I don't know about you; but I could have never made it through the ups and downs of this week without my God! I pray right now; that as we spend this time together today; that we would come to see that there is rest and peace in the presence of our Lord, while facing these difficult times…Amen!
The other morning, while doing some ministry work, I began to look out the window and take a moments break…and as I did, I found myself watching a couple birds and a squirrel eating together, which brought a smile to my face. As I sat there for a moment…thinking on this, I began to see that even though we may find ourselves surrounded by an unsettled world; we can still enjoy a peace that can separate us from these evil times. In fact, lately I have truly found a place, where I can eliminate all the chaos from my mind…a place where my thoughts can leave this world behind…to experience a peace that seems to shelter and protect me, from what may be taking place at the time.
The other day, as I found myself caught up in moments that seemed to bring peace and tranquility into my day, it was then that I was reminded that we don't have to allow the cares of this world to lead us down a path of hopelessness, when there is a place where we can separate our hearts and thoughts from this evil world. One thing I have come to see within my own life; is that it is our thoughts that will either lead us down a path of anxiety and fear or a path of peace…where there is shelter in the presence of God almighty…a place where the cares of this world melt away, so the heart and mind can be renewed in His presence.
You know…Jesus never said that this would be an easy life to walk through; but He did offer to provide a place of rest…one where the heavy burdens can be taken from us, while making the load lighter and easier to bare. All we have to do; is to be willing to let go…and step into moments that can walk our hearts and minds through other quiet and still thoughts…thoughts that can allow our hearts and minds to rest, as Christ restores and renews…what was once bringing us so low.
As I've been sitting here this morning…enjoying my visit with you; God began to lead me to a song that I haven't heard in some time…and here are a few of the lyrics… "There is a quiet place…far from the rapid pace, where God can soothe my troubled mind. Sheltered by tree and flow'r…there in my quiet hour, with Him my cares are left behind."
You know…even though this world has become chaotic…and filled with an evil that seems to be working overtime to steal our joy; there is a place where we can escape these moments and sit in the presence of God and find refreshment and renewal…a place where we can be taken far from these troubled times; but that will never happen, until we are willing to no longer allow evil to have its way with us.
If you are struggling to get through this life…and you can no longer take what is happening in this world around you…why not find a quiet place, where you can sit alone in the presence of God…a place that can take your thoughts far from the evil in this world, so God can sooth your troubled heart and mind.
I'll tell you…this has been a great week of visits! One thing I have come to see through our time together this week; is that God truly knows what is troubling us…and He's working to keep us all encouraged and uplifted through words such as these. No matter what you may be facing right now, just know that God does understand and care…and once we are willing to leave the troubled times behind, to find Him and the peace He so longs to give us; that is when life will seem bearable and easier to get through…so, get away for a while and sit in the presence of God…where He can renew and restore your hurting soul.
Well…it's time for me to get to work; but I sure have enjoyed my week with you…and I hope that you will come back again on Monday morning, for another great God inspired visit! Have a great weekend and God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
