Bible Verses for the Day | Psalm 112:7-8
"He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. 8) His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies."
Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? As we begin another visit together, I would just like to come down to your level and bring some hope to each of your hearts today. Lately, it seems as though we are experiencing more and more problems in this world…and moments such as these have a way of bringing us down to a place of no hope. As we see food and gas prices soaring; this seems to be on the hearts of many, as this makes it even more difficult to drive to a job and provide food for our families. Then to top it off…the uncaring spirit for others seems to be rising day by day. It's actually as if we are living in different countries that we've never known before. After a while of watching all of this take place, it can be so easy to find our thoughts drifting into an unknown future of fear and uncertainty.
As I've been sitting here with you today, I've been thinking on a couple of Bible verses that God has used many times in my life, which are actually our Bible verses for the day. Most times I share the King James version; but today, I would also like to share "The Living Bible" translation, for these verses found in Psalm 112:7-8…and we read… "He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him. 8) That is why he is not afraid but can calmly face his foes." I don't know about you; but when I read these verses in the Bible, they seem to bring comfort to my heart. Just think…when we have the most powerful being living within us, which is Jesus Christ; then we don't have to fear these bad times…or even live in dread of what may happen in the days to come…and why; because our God will always be there to take care of His children, which should give us a settled feeling that we will be just fine; and from there, we should have no fear of anything, but rather, we should be able to calmly face these troubled times.
As I look back to when Covid first began, it seemed as though there was so much panic and fear at first; but you know…it never seemed to faze me. In fact, I began to talk with my husband, as to how calm and at ease I really was at the time. Later, I came to see that it was because I was deeply connected with God…to the place where I knew in my heart that He would always be there to take care of me…just as He had done so many times in the past.
You know…it's amazing, as to the peace that can be found, when we find ourselves conversing with God. It's as though our whole self is being drawn deeply into the presence of God, where we are being safely sheltered from the storms that surround us. Moments such as these can be just what we need, to help us settle back and relax…knowing that God's presence is constantly with us.
No matter how much these changes in the world affect us, we can rest assured…knowing that even though evil is on a rampage; the eye of the most powerful God is upon us; and as His plan continues to unfold before us…a time will come when this powerful God will stomp the forces of evil back into hell for all of eternity, so never allow an unknown future to bring you down; but rather, let your mind be settled, with the thought that God will always be there to care for you.
As we close our time together today, I pray that we won't become so focused on what is taking place in this world right now; that we forget who is more powerful. I truly believe with all my heart; that when we look to God for shelter during these raging storms; that the evil that is attempting to take control of our souls will pass by and leave us unharmed…so keep your eyes on Jesus…look full in His wonderful face; and the things of this world will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace…Amen!
Well…it's time for me to move on into my day; but as we part for now, I pray that God's blessings will fall upon you…and that you will enjoy your day and come back again tomorrow, for another great God inspired visit! Until we meet again…God bless!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
