Bible Verses for the Day | Proverbs 16:27 | I Peter 5:8
"Idle hands are the devil’s workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece." (TLB) (Prov.16:27)
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (I Peter 5:8) (KJV)
Hello everyone! I sure hope that your Friday is off to a good start! This morning, I didn't know if I would be sharing a visit with you or not, because I have been facing health issues, along with some unexpected work….so, of course, life has been a little overwhelming for me.
As I sat in the living room this morning…talking with my husband, I honestly felt like giving up. I guess that life for me at that time was too much to cope with…and just like all of us, we tend to feel that giving up is the easy way out. Anyways…as I sat there for a bit…trying to hold back the tears, I began to feel as if something was bringing me to my feet, so I got up and came back into my office. After sitting here for a moment or two, I was reminded of a song, titled… "Still, I Rise"…and a few of the lyrics go like this…. "Yet still I rise…never to give up…never to give in against all odds. Yet still I rise, high above the clouds. At times I feel low, yet still I rise."
While sitting here in the presence of God, I began to think even more on how life is never going to be easy, especially as we are living in these end times; but believe me when I say… it will only get worse, when we choose to sit in these ashes of despair. One thing I'm being reminded of right now; is that lingering in hurtful moments, are only going to allow Satan to do more damage…to the place where we will find it even harder to get out of these overwhelming moments of despair…so we must not remain there.
Earlier, as I was sitting in the living room…talking with my husband, he was mentioning to me that he had just read one of the writings in one of my books, on God's strength for our weakness. As he was talking with me about it; it just didn't seem to pertain to what I was feeling at the time; but now, as I've been spending these moments with you and God, I now know why God allowed him to mention that to me…and that is because we can know what we're supposed to do… to help a situation; but sometimes, it's just not always that easy to find the strength to do it. God is reminding me right now; that when we team up with Him; then He can be the strength we need…to put into action, the things that can help us overcome moments such as these.
As I continue to think on this…I see how we can find it so easy to give up…and it's not always because we don't know what to do; but rather, it's because we just don't always have the strength to do it, due to what we have already been facing, which is exactly the way Satan planned it to be. He knows that when we become weak prey; then it makes it that much easier for him to defeat us. Right now, I praise God for coming to my rescue; for now, I know that it was His strength that brought this weak body to my feet.
You know…there are two things that we must remember today…and the first one is to never sit in our ashes of despair; for this only makes us open prey to the ways of evil. The second thing that we must remember; is to be alert to what Satan may be attempting to do, so we can reconnect with a strength that can help us to keep moving forward.
No matter what we face each day…it isn't good; but there is a way of escape…and giving up isn't one of them; for in doing so, we will only find ourselves caught in the clutches of evil, with even more problems. Instead, get up and do not linger in these moments that are only meant to bring you further down. Once you choose to lean on a God who is stronger than your problem; that is when you will walk free…just as I have this morning.
Have a very blessed day…and always know that God is there for you! Take care and enjoy your weekend…and I will hope to see you again on Monday morning, for another great God inspired visit! Bye for now!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
