Bible Verses for the Day | Jeremiah 18:1-6
"The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, 2) Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 3) Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4) And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. 5) Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 6) O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel."
Hello everyone…and how is your Wednesday? I can't believe it; but we have already arrived at the hump of our week; but you know what…if we can see how far we've already come; then that alone will give us the strength and hope we need, to finish out this week. Praise God for these words of hope and encouragement!
Last night, as I was spending some time alone with God, He began to show me, as to how important it is to give every little broken piece of our lives over to Him. Let's stop for a moment and think on what really happens when we don't do this. Let's say that you just bought a beautiful vase…and one day, you accidently knocked the vase off of the counter…and it fell to the floor and broke into many pieces. You bend down and pick up all the pieces you can find; but still, the vase doesn't appear to be the same…and why, because the vase appears to show signs of missing pieces. You feel good that you were able to get the vase mostly back together; but still, the vase has flaws and also the vase doesn't appear to be as strong as it once was. In a similar way…when we don't give God all the broken pieces of our lives; then parts of our lives will still remain unfixed, with flaws that could eventually break down and open us up to other broken moments; that only keep us weak in spirit.
You know…I wonder why we choose to only give God some of the broken pieces to our lives, rather than all of them? From my own experience…I think that maybe there can be times, when the brokenness that we're already facing is painful enough; so, we choose to only hand over the pieces that can be easily fixed. As I look back on my own life, I remember times when I did this. In fact, I hid the pieces deep within me…that I just knew that I couldn't deal with at the time. The only thing bad about that; is that it didn't make my life complete…and I still remained weak in spirit.
Last night, I was reading through a couple of thoughts that God had given me that morning…and the one that I was truly drawn to reads… "It's time to surrender it all to Jesus; otherwise, it can't get fixed." Think about this for a moment…how can God bring us back to where we should be, if some of the pieces are missing…and we aren't willing to hand them over to Him?
The only way that our lives can be made complete and fixed from brokenness; is when we say to God… "Here is every broken piece of my life. Lord, I know that this process may not always be easy for me to go through; but I'm giving You every one of these broken pieces…knowing that You can do a work in me; that I can't even begin to accomplish on my own. So, once more Lord…take it all…every broken piece of clay…and mold them and make them into something stronger…and please Lord, let every piece be used for You…Amen!"
One thing I want to say to you today, as we close our time together; is that there can be moments, when it's not always easy to hand the broken pieces of our lives over to God; because we know that the repair process can be a painful one at times…believe me, I know; but when we choose to let God take each broken piece of our lives and work in a way that He can only do; then the hurt and pain does eventually leave…and in the end, we are made stronger and more complete.
One thing I have come to see, while standing in the past moments of a shattered life; is that the pieces only continue to break even more, when we aren't willing to let God have them all, which only takes more time to repair what's been broken. So, stop right now and ask God to take it all…every broken piece; and then trust Him to repair your life…one piece at a time. One thing I know for sure…none of these pieces will be discarded; but rather, He will take them and use them for something better, which in the end will defeat the one (Satan) who had at one time shattered your life…Amen!
I sure hope that our visit together today touched your heart! Just know that no matter how broken you may be…there is hope; but first, you must hand over every broken piece of your life to God. As we end this time together…my prayer for you; is that you will find the strength through God, to do just that!
Well…it's time for me to continue on with my day! It sure has been nice having you here with me…and I hope that you will come back again tomorrow and join me for another great God inspired visit! Until then…take care and many blessings on your day!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
