BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY
"Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 2 Corinthians 7:1
Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? Well, another week begins…and I don't know about you; but I had a very nice and refreshing weekend! In fact, Saturday I went outside and did a few things with my husband and then we ate lunch outdoors. What a beautiful day it was…and you know what…it made up for a lot of rough days I had recently had, due to my health…so I praise God for that today!
As we begin our time together, I would like to share a little of my Saturday with you. As Keith and I headed outdoors, into a beautiful sunny morning; Keith began to help me move my hummingbird feeder into a cove of lilacs that we have near a birdbath…and then from there, I hung up a few artificial flower baskets that I had made a while back and I hung them on a black iron pole that I have outside my office window; so now, I am looking at flowers every morning…and what a refreshing site to see! After finishing those couple of things, I also had some old lanterns that I wanted to hang in the tree…so Keith also helped me with that project too. Now, I am looking out to a woodsy back yard…and what a sight to behold everyday as I write. One thing I can tell you for sure today; is that everything came together that well, because I had invited God to join me…and what a day it truly was!
Once everything got finished in the yard, I decided to warm up some lunch and eat outside on the loungers with Keith. As I was sitting there…something seemed very different to me. I knew that our neighbor had some limbs cut out of a big bull pine the other day; but it just seemed like there was more missing, from what I remembered last summer.
Anyways, as I began to study the situation, I came to see that another tree had been removed from the yard. As I looked through the hole…of where this tree once stood, I began to see a view that I had never seen before. In fact, there was this beautiful blue spruce standing tall, which I hadn't even noticed, due to the other tree being in the way. Even though this tree that I once loved to look at each summer was now gone, I began to see the beauty that I had been missing out on…beyond where this other tree had once stood.
This morning, as I was thinking more on this; God began to show me that when we allow Him to remove the dead and cluttered moments that now serve no purpose in our hearts and lives; then so much more can be seen…things that can give us hope and a new outlook on life.
You know…I have come to see throughout my life; that when we allow bad memories and unresolved issues to clutter our hearts; then they block our view of what God is longing to show us. For so many years of my life, I had allowed the memories of the past to overtake my life…to the place where I couldn't see anything but what was standing before me, which only allowed me to walk continually down a road of no hope. So many times, I think we use our hearts to store worthless things. In other words, we take the junk in our lives…and instead of letting God resolve these issues and get rid of them; we tend to ignore them, by pushing them deep within the heart. The only bad thing about that; is that they do eventually resurface, which only allows us to go through other moments of needless suffering.
Have you ever stopped to think that maybe we aren't seeing what God longs for us to see; because we have too much of the past, along with unresolved issues in the way. Right now, we need to see these moments as deadened moments…moments that serve no purpose…and allow God to help us remove them from the heart, so we can see what He has beyond these moments for us.
One thing I can say to you today; is that since I have gotten rid of the past moments of abuse…and a dysfunctional life; I have truly come to see life in a much different and better way. There is peace now for me…and I'm not walking down an endless road of hopelessness anymore. We must remember that hope can only be found, when we are willing to get rid of the things that are blocking our view. Once we allow God to help us clean out the deadened and diseased moments of our lives; that is when we will begin to see and experience moments, in which we thought could never be.
What words God has given us all today…and what a great start to the week! I sure hope that you will take the time to look deep into your heart and see if there is anything blocking your view, of what God longs for you to see and experience right now. Have a very blessed day…and I will be looking forward to another great God inspired visit with you tomorrow! May God truly bless your heart with His loving presence!
