Bible Verse for the Day | Proverbs 3:6
"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (…and crown your efforts with success. TLB)
Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! It's so good to be back with you today…and I praise God for each word of encouragement that He continues to fill our hearts with; for these are the words that can shift us away from evil and help us to continually walk in God's direction…praise Him!!
Last Friday afternoon, as I was closing my week of ministry work, I decided to continue with some cleaning and other work in the office. One thing that I have always promised God; is that the ministry comes first…then other things. Anyways, at first, everything was going well…and it was so good to see the room gradually coming back into something that would make my time in there much easier, as I am disabled; but as I was plugging in my printer, I noticed a few sparks in the outlet that I had just started to plug into. Before I realized it, the outlet was no longer working. I guess that it had sent a surge into the outlet and blew it out. There was no fire…or any other thing to be concerned about; but the problem I was now facing, was that I no longer had a place to plug my printer in at the time.
As I continued to think on what could be done, I was wearing down and feeling the heat of the day, along with the pain that I was beginning to experience from being on my feet to long, so I went out into the living room and just sat there thinking on what I could do. It seemed that the more I kept thinking…the more discouraged I became. While sitting there quietly for a few minutes, I pretty much decided that it was about time to quit for the day; that is until God took me back to a time in my life, when I was experiencing these same feelings. At the time, I was going through counseling for sexual abuse…and after having a difficult session, I decided to go into the lobby and just rest my thoughts. I would say that I had only been sitting there for a minute or two, when my counselor came out of the office with an arm load of papers. As she was leaving the office, the papers suddenly fell out of her arms and unto the floor. She must have noticed me sitting there; because she called out my name and had asked me to come over and help her pick up the papers. After saying I would…I was feeling so drained from the counseling session at the time; that I just continued to sit there; but after a short time, she began to call out to me again and say… "Now Diane." Once I began to go into action and help her…I began to see that she was only trying to get me back into the land of the living; and from that moment on, I began to see life in a much different way, as though I had just woken up out of a deep sleep.
You see…if we want God to bless something and make it better; then we have to do something that will allow Him to bless it and crown it with success. Yes, we can ask God to help us; but at the same time, we must also work with Him, so we can give Him something to work with.
Think of it this way…when we play a game of checkers, we must cautiously take each of our pieces and move them across the board, until we reach the other side of the board. Once we achieve this; that is when the other person will crown our game piece. In a similar way, when we continue to press on with God's help; then when we reach the other side; that is when He will bless our effort and crown it with success.
You know…it's good to pray and ask God for His help. In fact, it's actually the first step we should always take, when we are going through a time of need; but then we must also remember to pursue and do everything that we can do, so He can take our efforts and bless them and crown them with success. Working together with God in this way, will give Him just what He needs, to begin a new work within us.
As we close our visit together today, my prayer for you…is that you will always have the strength you need to continue on and pursue what God may have for you, while facing a difficult time in your life; that He may have something to take hold of and crown with His success.
Well…another new week begins, which means that it's time for me to continue on. I sure hope that you were inspired through our visit today…and that you will join me again tomorrow, for another great God inspired visit! May God truly bless your heart!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
