Bible Verse for the Day | Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Hello everyone…and welcome back to the blog! I sure hope that you're having a nice Friday! Over the past few days, I've been thinking a lot, on how we must always try to remain positive…no matter what we are facing at the time. We need to realize that we are living in much different times; then even 2 years ago…and I don't know about you; but I am seeing a lot of changes more and more each day. I know that trying to remain positive is not always easy; but I truly believe that when we think on the things that are of good report; then God's peace will be with us…and especially His strength.
Last night, as I was thinking more and more on this, I began to see how a positive and negative thought has its own path to follow. For instance…when we choose to allow our thoughts to walk down a positive path; then this path will lead us further away from the problem to something much better, than where a situation may be attempting to take us at the time. Now on the other hand, when our thoughts choose to walk down a negative path; then this choice will only lead us deeper and deeper into the problem that we're already facing.
You know…it's not always easy to remember that it's our thoughts that actually leads us in the direction of God or Satan; because we can become so easily caught up in these evil times; that before we realize it…we have been deceived into thinking that these moments will only worsen with time, which is really Satan's tactic for keeping us away from the positive thoughts that could keep us headed in the right direction.
There is one thing that I'm sure will help us all, while facing these uncertain and very evil times…and that is knowing that peace can be found in the midst of a storm…that is, if we choose to allow our thoughts to lead us in that direction. In other words, instead of allowing the evil in this world to draw us into thoughts like…"What if this happens…and what if this goes wrong"…why not replace those thoughts with a Bible verse or some thoughts that would no longer allow us to question these times…such as, my God will always be with me until the very end. (Matthew 28:20)
You know…there can be times, when we become so drawn into everything that is taking place around us; that our sight becomes instantly removed from what we were once focusing on…and from there, we allow the negativity of what is now taking place, to control our thoughts. This is why our thoughts must be deeply rooted in Christ; for then we will not fall over and become weak prey to the evil that is attempting to keep us on that path of negativity.
As I look back on my life, I remember a time, when I had been going through one knee surgery after another. I had become so caught up in the surgeries, pain and recovery; that I eventually found myself on the wrong path. In fact, I was so upset at that time; that I said to God… "What's next!" Later, I truly came to see where those negative thoughts and words could lead me, as I ended up going through one more surgery. It wasn't because God didn't love me anymore…or that He was angry with me; but rather, it was because I had allowed my thoughts and feelings to walk me down the wrong path…where Satan now had control. From that moment on, I no longer give Satan the time of day; but instead, I look for the thoughts that could take him down, rather than the other way around.
As we close our visit today, may we all begin anew, by thinking on the things that are of good report…that the God of all peace may be with us during these troubled times. Have a very blessed weekend…and I hope that you will meet me here on Monday morning, for another great God inspired visit! Take care…and may God truly be with you, until we meet again! Bye for now!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
