Bible Verses for the Day | Psalm 18:6, 16-17
"6) In my distress I called upon the Lord and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears."
"16) He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. 17) He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me."
Hello everyone…and how are you doing today? I sure hope that your Thursday is going well! As we begin our time together today, my prayer is that you will always know in your heart that there is hope in Jesus Christ…no matter what you may face…and no matter what may be taking place around you. One thing I know…when we can truly come to see that Jesus is only a prayer away from us; then that is when hope will always remain alive within us…Amen!
Let me ask you a question, as we begin our visit today… "What do you do, when your day seems out of control…and the peace you once had is gone? Do you fall prey to what is taking place at the time…or do you call out to God?"
On Tuesday morning, my day was off to a great start! It seemed like our time together on Monday morning had me all pumped up and ready for another new day…knowing that God would be there to make the impossible…possible for me.
As I came into the office, I felt upbeat, as I began to start out my day with a "Good morning" to the Lord. After checking a few things online, I made a phone call, which to my surprise had bad news for me; but still I was determined to leave everything in God's hands and press on with my day.
Once I was finished with my phone call, it seemed like the day began to pick up speed, as I was starting to feel as if I was juggling everything that came my way. Even though it seemed to be a struggle at times; everything eventually calmed down…and before I knew it, the morning was pretty much over…and now it was time to prep something for dinner and make lunch for Keith and me.
As I sat on the couch…enjoying some lunch and a much-needed break, I began to share my afternoon schedule with Keith and just chill out for a short bit, while preparing my mind for the next phase of my day, which was to do some work online, which eventually ended up being a whole lot of fun…just kidding. What I thought would be the easiest work for the day…started out to be a little complicated. Let's face it…it became very complicated; for it seemed like the more I tried to accomplish what I was there for…the worse it got; and from that moment on, this work became even more of a struggle…and they say that computers are supposed to make your life easier…lol.
After going as far as I could go, while maintaining my sanity, I decided that it was a good opportunity to put Satan in his place, so I stopped and made it very clear that he was not welcome…and that it was now time for him to leave; and then from there, I began to ask God to help me…and you know what…before I knew it, there was once more a calm in my day.
Last night, while looking through a few Bible references, I came across one of my favorite readings, which is found in Psalm 18:6-17. Today, I am only sharing a few verses from that reading with you, which are posted above; but I would encourage you to read them all later; because they will truly give you an insight, as to what takes place…after calling out to God for help.
Anyways…as I continued on, I found it amazing, as to what takes place, when one of God's children calls out for His help. Do you realize that when we cry out to God for help; that our prayers actually reach the very ears of God…and from there, He does everything to move heaven and earth to reach us…and once He reaches us…it is His presence that draws us out of the troubled waters and delivers us from our strong enemy…the one who is attempting to bring our life to destruction.
One thing I know for sure; is that there can be times when the sunny peaceful moments of a day can hide behind a darkened cloud and take our thoughts away from thoughts of peace, joy and contentment…to a life that only seems to become lost within the problems that surround us. In fact, these moments can attempt to convince us that God is no longer there…or that He has forgotten us; but that is only because we are too much in tune with the problems that have brought about change within our lives.
What we need to do, is to call out to God with a heart of faith and confidence…knowing that He will be there for us…and once we do this; that is when our cry for help will be ushered into His loving presence…and will reach the ears of a Father, who truly longs to come and rescue His own…the one who is in distress. Now this is hope!
As we close our time together, I pray that you will come to see that there is a way out of a complicated day…a way that can lead you back to the peace you once had…and even more, a way that can separate you from evil and draw you closer into the presence of a loving God…Amen!
Well…it's been another great visit…and time well spent with God! I truly hope that your day will be surrounded by the presence of God almighty…and that you will come back and join me tomorrow, for another great God inspired visit! Many…many blessings on your day!
It's Always & Only Because of Him…
