Standing Still...to Let God Work

3/26/2017

Bible readings...
“Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually.” Hosea 12:6
“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14
“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.” Psalm 37:7

Hello everyone and welcome back this week to Sunday Inspiration! I am so glad that you stopped by for a visit this Sunday and I pray that we will truly experience a special touch from God today!

You know…letting go of life’s problems isn’t always easy…is it? Seems like we travel with God, from one problem to another and some of those problems are solved instantly or within a short time, while others seem to drag on, with no end in sight. We sit and wonder if there’s something else we can do, to resolve the problem; but I’ve come to see that sometimes we can get in God’s way, which only makes it much more difficult for God to finish the work that He has begun.

The song that I chose for this Sunday is titled, “Stand Still” and when I first heard this song, I was quickly reminded; that sometimes we just need to stand still and let God do His work. Don’t we realize that we can unknowingly become the road block that keeps God from entering the core of our problems…just by always feeling the need to make this work out or to make that work out?

One thing I have come to see, while facing my own problems; is that when we try to make life work our way; then we only end up on a detour road that takes us further away from the One we need the most.

Have you ever felt so distant from God, while walking through a deep dark valley of despair? Isn’t it amazing how we question God, as to why He abandoned us, at the time we needed Him the most, when all along we were probably the ones who left His side, by choosing our own direction and ideas, for the problems we were facing at the time.

Don’t we realize that God loves us so much; that He longs to always be close to us? Sometimes, I think that while we are feeling abandoned by God…He is actually the One, who is feeling abandoned by us. Don’t we realize that when we choose to make life work for ourselves; that we are actually headed in a direction that removes us from the presence of God? Once we have wondered off, on some detour road of our own choosing; then we end up finding out later; that our problems only worsen…because you see, once we leave the presence of God, we only find ourselves in unknown territory, where we can easily be trapped within other problems.

I truly believe that there is a time when we need to work with God, when it comes to our problems; but I also believe that sometimes we have to know when it’s time to stop and let God finish the work.

No matter what you’re facing today, just know that God is there for you. Sometimes, He’s longing for you to work with Him, as you journey with Him through these trying times in your life; but when the road seems to come to an end and you don’t know where to go from there…stand still and let God take over and once we are all willing to follow God in this way; then we will not only be in sync with Him; but we will also begin to see a God, who is not only much more powerful than ourselves; but a God who is more than able to kick in and do the work that’s just too difficult for us to finish.
Have a blessed Sunday…filled with the presence of God!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
