A Death that Became the Beginning of New Life...

4/16/2017

Bible readings...
“Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. (2) And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. (3) And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. (4) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: (5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? (6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, (7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” Luke 24:1-7

Hello everyone! Welcome to Sunday Inspiration! I’m so glad that you joined me this Sunday, for a very special writing…as we think back to a time, when Jesus arose triumphantly from the dead! My prayer today; is that God will truly touch us deep within the heart and leave us with a piece of hope that will keep us lifted up, while facing the challenges of this life!

You know…death can seem so final and death can even leave us with a hopeless heart…knowing that the one we loved will never be with us again. Death can even make us feel empty and alone, with a sadness that pierces the heart so deeply; that each breath we attempt to breathe can seem just as painful, as what we are experiencing deep within the heart.

Can you imagine what the disciples were experiencing and even Mary and Mary Magdalene, as Jesus was being taken down from the cross? Here was a man that at one time had been full of life…going about His Father’s business and now, He lies on the ground…lifeless before them.

After placing Jesus in the tomb, they continued to grieve, as if they would never see Him again…that is until one morning, while visiting the tomb. As they came to the sepulchre, they found the stone rolled away and as they entered; Jesus’ body was nowhere to be found. As they became anxious over what they had discovered…two angels appeared before them and asked them… “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” “He is not here, but is risen.”

Do we realize that we serve a risen Savior or have we unknowingly kept Jesus in the tomb, due to our actions and the way we react to life? Don’t we realize that what Jesus went through on the cross and even His death became the finalization of sin, while bringing newness of life through His resurrection…to all who would believe in Him?

Again…words are so easily spoken but the way we respond to life either reveals a living Savior or a god that remains dead within the tomb. Today, we need to realize that Jesus’ death became the complete sacrifice for sin, while His resurrection created a new beginning…a beginning that can breathe newness of life within us.

You know…life can seem as if we are walking from one problem to another. These problems can make us feel as if death has entered the heart, while placing us in a prison cell of total despair. We can even feel as if we will never leave these moments behind, to experience newness, in the way the Bible speaks of; but one thing we must remember…even though these moments can make us feel lifeless and alone…as Christians, we have the hope that a risen Savior lives within each one of us.

Today, we need to allow the risen Savior to rise up within us…a Savior whose power over death can free us and break loose…the shackles of despair. When we choose to muddle through life on our own, rather than turning to the One who is alive within us; then we make Him powerless, while we bury Him deep within the heart.

The piece of hope we need to hold tightly to; is that we serve a risen Savior…One who is alive and well within us…for He is the One who not only came back to life; but through His resurrection; He has breathed newness within us...with a hope that says that all things are possible to those who believe.
Blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
