A New Path into a New Year

1/1/2017

Bible readings...
“Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: (10) That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: (11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: (12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.” Ephesians 1:9-12

Hello everyone and “Happy New Year!” Today, I would like to welcome you back to “Sunday Inspiration!” Today, I pray that we all will discover a piece of hope to hold to…a hope that will carry us through another new year.

You know…if we were to stop and think of another New Year; we would probably see this New Year, as either another chapter of our lives or another piece of the puzzle that God is beginning to put into place.

As I was looking over the Bible reading that I chose for today, I was thinking on how God can be a mysterious God. Even though we connect with Him, we still need to use the path of trust, to gradually see what He has in store for our lives. As we already know…everything doesn’t happen in one year; but rather, God has our lives mapped out in a way, where we can slowly watch Him put the complete puzzle of our lives together, in His timing.

You know…when we read a book; we never know how it’s going to end, until we have walked through every chapter and experienced what the characters went through. In a similar way, as we walk through life, from one year to another; it’s as if we are walking through every chapter of life that God had predestined, from the day He created us and in order for us to see how the story will end, we need to experience every chapter. Some chapters may bring happy times and some chapters may bring pain and deep heartache but as we walk from one chapter to the next, we will begin to see how God is slowly piecing our lives together…that is, if we are willing to view our lives in the way that He longs for us to see them.

You know…the thing that makes God so mysterious; is that He created us and designed us in a way; so that only He knows what will take place and what true purpose we will serve in this life. Have you ever wondered what life would be like, if we already knew what would take place in our lives? I know one thing…after what I’ve experienced in life, I think that I would have went into hiding…just to escape all the pain and deep heartache I went through; but really…what purpose would that have served? When I look back on my life, I can see that I have only arrived to the place I’m at because of the pain and heartache I experienced. These moments taught me to find strength through my weakness and to lean on a God; that could keep me standing during the difficult times.

We may find it difficult to walk through the ruts, on the path of life and the darkness alone can make us feel as if this path will never have an end; but when we choose to trust God, for every step we take in life; then I think that we will begin to anticipate what is next, rather than dreading what may lie ahead of us.

Today…maybe it’s time for us to quit looking at how bad the path may seem and begin to see this path into a New Year, as a path of trust…a path, where we look to the One, who already knows the way. I think that when we are willing to let go of our fears and the negativity that has become a dense fog around us; then we will begin to clearly see that even though times may get rough…these are the moments that will allow us to see where God is leading us, as He begins to unfold the true purpose He had for our lives, since the day we were born.

My prayer for you today; is that you will discover the hand of God, rather than the hand of a problem; that God may begin to lead you, in the direction that will allow you to see the true purpose that God has for your life.
Have a great New Year & God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
