Looking for God through Our Trials

3/19/2017

Bible readings...
“At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place. (2) Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. (3) He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. (4) After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard. (5) God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. (6) For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. (7) He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.”  Job 37:1-7

Hello everyone and welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration! I hope your Sunday is off to a great start! My prayer today, as we begin; is that we will truly experience God’s presence, within the very depth of our hearts!

Have you ever experienced something unusual and wondered if it was God’s way of loving you through a difficult moment in your life? Have you ever felt the wind blow out of nowhere and wonder if it was God breathing down upon you? Have you ever had a song come to your thoughts; that you had never heard before, while finding the words to be of great comfort, during the difficult times of your life?

I have experienced the true and loving presence of God many times, while facing the difficult moments of pain and heartache. I remember a time in my life, when all I felt was the weight of a broken heart; to the place where I could barely pray. These became the moments when songs would enter my thoughts that I had never heard before. As I would listen to the words, it seemed as if they were messages, from God’s heart to mine…messages that would comfort me, during the broken times of my life. If you were to ask me what these songs sounded like or what the words said, I couldn’t tell you because I feel as if God was using those songs, for that specific moment in time.

You know…there can be moments, when we truly question God, as to why He allows certain circumstances to enter our lives. Have you ever wondered if this is God’s way of reaching us and loving us? You say…is this love; that God would allow me to suffer greatly? In some way, yes because sometimes the love we experience from God is a tough love…a love that longs so much for us to be walking in His will and sometimes God’s way of directing us there, is to allow these difficult moments to enter our lives.

If we could only find God, while walking through the broken moments of our lives; but it seems as if we become so caught up in what we are experiencing at the moment; that we become deafened to the voice and touch of a powerful and loving God.

You know…God not only sees the tears that fall down our cheeks but He also hears the cry that comes from deep within the heart and when we choose to fall humbly before a mighty God; that is when He steps in and reveals Himself to us, in ways that we could never have imagined.

I remember a time, when I took a whole summer to write, while my husband was working. I would take my tablet and pen out onto the deck and listen for the still small voice of God. As I was thinking on what God would have me to write, I decided to get up and look over the rail of the deck. As I looked up to the sky…out of nowhere, a strong wind hit me in the face and almost knocked me over. From there, a poem was born, which talked about God’s breath breathing down upon us.

You know…we don’t have to be someone special in God’s eyes, to experience these special moments with Him. All God longs from us; is that we would humbly seek Him with a whole heart. When are willing to tune ourselves out from the world and our own thoughts, to listen for that still small voice of God, we will begin to experience the presence of a God, who longs to love and care for us so much!
Blessings on your Sunday!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
