Pushing through Moments of Affliction to Find Jesus...

5/28/2017

Bible readings...
“And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: (21) For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. (22) But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.” Matthew 9:20-22

Hello everyone! Welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad that you came to join me this Sunday, for a very special time alone with God! My prayer; is that we will truly experience the fullness of God, while spending these quiet moments together with Him!

As we begin today…let me ask you a question. Can you imagine having a blood disease for 12 years of your life? I would think that after a while of suffering in this way; that we just might be tempted to give up and give into the disease. Even though this woman suffered for so many years of her life and could not find a cure to what was wrong; she never gave up. In fact, her faith was so real; that she knew in her heart…that just by touching a piece of Jesus’ garment; that this would be enough to heal her completely…what faith!

I can’t even begin to imagine what this woman must have experienced, while going through these long years of illness. I’m sure she never had the comforts of home, as you and I do and I’m sure that there must have been times, when she struggled to get food or even to just make it, from one moment to the next. Even though she faced these difficult and trying times in her life, she never gave up on finding the answer to her problem. In fact…it was as though her illness pushed her in Jesus’ direction.

One day, my husband and I were talking about all that I had overcome in my life, with God’s help and as we were talking, I mentioned to him; that strange as it may seem; I think it was all the pain and heartache; that not only helped me to search for the answers I needed so desperately; but I’m sure that it was these moments; that made me search for Jesus even more. In fact, when I look back on those difficult times in my life…I can say without a doubt; that if I would have never experienced those trying times in my life…I probably would have never found Jesus, in the way that I did.

How is it…that while suffering through long and drawn out moments of affliction; we find it so easy to give into the problem? How can we hate the problem so much; but yet still long to follow after it? Just think what would happen within our lives, if we were willing to work our way towards Jesus.

I truly believe that whatever we pursue in life; will either become the road that leads us to more pain and heartache or the road that will take us away from the problem, while leading us closer to Jesus. Today, we need to let go of our problems and start pushing our way through the thoughts and feelings that are attempting to keep us in bondage, until we find Jesus.
Blessings on your Sunday!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
