Sufficient Grace...

​Hello everyone…and a big welcome today, to Sunday Inspiration…through the Risen Hope Ministries! I am so glad to have you with me today and my prayer for all of us; is that we will truly find peace…in knowing that God’s grace is sufficient, during times of need!
 
As we begin today…let me ask you a couple questions. Have you ever felt, as if God was saying no to a prayer request? Have you begged God over and over again, to bring you through a trial; but yet it still remains?  Moments like these can attempt to convince us that God no longer loves us or has just abandoned us and walked away; but what I have come to truly see, through moments such as these; is a loving God…comforting me with a grace that truly sustains me and helps me, until He is ready to walk me out of the trial.
 
I don’t know how many times in the past…I found myself begging God over and over again, for His help…only to feel rejected, by the One, who I thought had truly loved me. At a time, when I felt as though all hope had been lost; God led me to a couple Bible verses, in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9a, which reads…“For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:”
 
How is it that we feel we have to be relieved of the trials we’re going through…before we can find peace? Is it the trial itself that frees us from these moments of despair? Yes…relief can definitely be found, when an illness has passed or deep heartache has moved on; but what about the moments; that just don’t seem to leave at the time?
 
Quite a while back, God gave me a quote that I now keep in my Bible…and it reads…“Safety is not found in the absence of danger; but rather, safety is found in the presence of God.” In other words…we can be going through the most difficult trial and still find peace, in the midst of the storm.
 
When I think about a hurricane; I think about a very destructive storm. Even though this kind of a storm can be destructive from the outside of the hurricane; there is a place on the inside, where skies are often clear above the eye of the storm and winds are relatively light.  In a similar way…we can experience the fiercest storm, from what we see with our eyes on the outside but little do we know; that there is an eye to this storm; that is more than sufficient, to sustain us and keep us from the moments that can attempt to be so destructive. In fact, we can experience the most calming affect…even before the storm has come to an end…simply by just knowing that God’s grace is sufficient for the time.
 
You know…how is it that we fall apart, when God hasn’t answered a prayer? Don’t we know that God has a backup plan…something that can sustain us and hold us close to Him, until He is ready to say yes to our prayer needs? Why not take hold of God’s grace today; a grace that can keep you safe and at peace, until the storm ceases to rage no more.
