The Waiting Room...

11/23/2018

Bible readings...
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14
“Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.” Psalm 33:20-22
“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.” Isaiah 64:4

Hello everyone! Welcome back this week, to Sunday Inspiration…through the Risen Hope Ministries! It’s so good to have you here again this week and my prayer today; is that we will find hope…in just knowing that God is continually at work within our lives, while we wait on Him, for the answers we so desperately need!

Throughout the long and difficult journey that I have faced in life, I have come to see how it can be very hard to wait for God’s response to a need. I think that if we all were to be honest with ourselves…we as humans just don’t like to wait for the answers that we feel we need…to the questions that stand before us right now.

While facing years of counseling, for sexual abuse and the numerous knee surgeries that made me feel as if I was headed nowhere…along with the many other struggles and challenges in life; I came to see this time of waiting, as if I was actually in a waiting room…waiting for God to step into the room…to give me His response, to all the brokenness in my life.

Many times, I don’t know if I was actually waiting on God to give me a response to my needs or if I was slowly giving up…because at first, I never felt the need to press on or even praise God, in the midst of it all. Many times…I think we find this time of waiting, as a time to sit and focus on our problems and where they may be leading us; but I have come to truly see that this isn’t what we should be doing. Instead, we should find ourselves doing two things. First…we should be giving praise to God…and you ask me why? Because a heart of praise becomes a positive message…from our heart to God’s heart, which says that we know that He’s got full control of each circumstance; so it can be made into something that will cause us to be more closely connected with Him, while being able to move on, into a better way of life; then what life used to be…before the trial began.

Second…we need to remain active and continue to press on in life. Sitting around and focusing on the problem isn’t going to make it any better…and we must also realize that there is nothing we can do about the problem, when God has it.  We know that when God is finished putting everything into its rightful place; then He will let us know…so why should we make ourselves vulnerable to negative thinking, when we can be uplifted, by simply pressing on, from one day into the next.

Today, you may still be waiting for a response from God, due to a very difficult circumstance in your life. May I encourage you to wait peacefully on God, while reading His word and remaining focused on the hope that can keep you pressing onward? I truly believe that when we are willing to leave the problem with God…a time will come, when He will step into the waiting room; to let us know that all things have been made new!
Blessings so much on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
