"He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! (4) Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:3-4
"Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you." I Peter 5:7 "Then turning to his disciples he said, “Don’t worry about whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. (23) For life consists of far more than food and clothes. (24) Look at the ravens—they don’t plant or harvest or have barns to store away their food, and yet they get along all right—for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! (25) “And besides, what’s the use of worrying? What good does it do? Will it add a single day to your life? Of course not! (26) And if worry can’t even do such little things as that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? (27) “Look at the lilies! They don’t toil and spin, and yet Solomon in all his glory was not robed as well as they are. (28) And if God provides clothing for the flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, don’t you suppose that he will provide clothing for you, you doubters? Luke 12:22-28 |
Do we realize that worry only adds to our problems and makes them more difficult than what they really are? Can we say that worry helps us to overcome these daily problems we face? I believe that worry is brought on because we fall prey to our weaknesses, while allowing Satan to step in and control our emotions. We need to realize that worry is only a deceptive tactic brought on by Satan; to keep us on a detour road away from God; so he can have control over our thoughts.
Worry also becomes a time, when Satan can step into our thoughts and convince us; that our situation is headed for the very worst. Instead of having our minds on the problem that may be standing before us; we need to turn our thoughts often to the Lord and allow His presence to sooth and sustain our spirits, until the problem no longer exists. We might as well face it...as long as we are tightly focused on the problem that stands before us, we will never find peace because in order to experience a true and lasting peace; that can only be found through Jesus Christ; we must first have our attention aimed in His direction. Just as the verse in Luke 12:25 states...will worry add a single day to our life? If worry won't help us; then why do we turn to worry and allow it to have control over our thoughts, at a time when we should be focused on the One who can help us. If we truly know and understand the ways of God and have come to a place, where we truly believe in God's wonder working power; then we should have no reason to worry. |
