Allowing God’s Ways to Become Ours

10/16/2020

Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Friday to you all! I hope that your week is coming to a good end…and that God would continue to make His presence known to you every day…Amen!!
You know…so many times, we expect God to answer our prayers in the way that we feel is best…or in the way that we think He might answer them; but do we realize that His thoughts and His ways are so much higher than ours. In other words…God can see what we can’t always see; so there may be times, when He feels that it’s more important to work from there…which may lead to a different response, when it comes to answering our prayers.
In Isaiah 55:8-9, we read… “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. 9) "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
I remember a time in my life, when I wanted God to heal my knees, so I could have a normal life like most people. There were times when I would cry out and beg Him to do this for me; but while I was begging for His help…according to my thoughts and my ways…His ways were much higher than mine, which allowed Him to see more than what was standing before me at the time. In other words…He saw a way, where He could use these legs and all that I would experience in life, to help and encourage others, who may be going through hard and difficult moments of affliction. One thing I learned through this experience; is that since I was determined to try and have God fit into my ideal of what life should be for me; I also had set myself up for a big letdown…one that would take some time to recover from.
You know…it’s good to have faith…and to share our thoughts and ideas with God; but in Proverbs 16:1 we read… “We can make our plans, but the final outcome is in God’s hands.”
We must remember that as Christians; we have given Jesus control of our hearts and lives…and sometimes the outcome of answered prayer can make us feel deeply disappointed; but one thing God has shown me over the years; is that even though one door may close…it’s only so another door can open. If we could just hand our needs over to Jesus and leave the final outcome up to Him; then waiting on Him to respond could be so much easier to handle.
As I look back to the moments, when I had begged God to heal these legs; I see clearly now…that if He would have answered my prayer my way; then I wouldn’t be doing what I love to do right now, which is helping others…and I probably wouldn’t be where I am with Him in my life…and that I can say for sure.
You know…it’s so easy for us to want God to answer our prayers, in a way that could make life easier for us…at least that’s what we may be thinking at the time; but we must remember that His thoughts and His ways are higher than ours, which means that He can look further down the road…to see if our ideas and plans could actually work out in a good way. If not…that is when His plan goes into action…and we must trust Him and know in our hearts that He will never let us down; but will perfect His plan in a way that can truly bring about better things within our lives.
As we close…my prayer is that we will turn to God and hand over our needs to Him…and that we will also be able to let go of everything and let Him decide, as to what is best for us. When we are truly able to do this; that is when He will begin to go to work on our behalf...and in the end…we will live with peace rather than disappointment…and why…because we allowed God’s ways to become ours…Amen!
Have a very blessed day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
