Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Thursday to you all! It’s so good to be back with you today…and I pray that no matter what we’re facing in life; that we will always be open to God’s ways, rather than our own…Amen!!
Yesterday morning, as I left my office to go grocery shopping; I was thinking to myself, as to how much peace I was experiencing at the moment…a peace that could make a person feel as if nothing could ever go wrong. In fact…while I was waiting for the taxi to show up; I was mentioning to Keith that I felt as if it was truly going to be a good day.
After sitting there for a while…Keith had left to go into the other room for a minute and while he was gone…I once more thanked God for the beautiful morning and asked Him to be with us in the taxi…and to also walk through the store with us and bring us safely home. Just after saying my little prayer…the taxi driver called and said that he had been short on help and that the phone had been ringing off the hook…and that he would be unable to get to where we were; but then he said that he had called someone else to come and pick us up…so I said that would be fine. Within a few minutes of hanging up the phone…the other taxi driver called and said that he would be there to pick us up within 15 minutes; so I just settled back and put my feet up until he arrived.
Once we got to the store…there were so many people who must have gotten the same idea I had…especially with snow coming tomorrow; so it was quite the morning. By time I got out of the store, my legs were paining so badly and we still had to wait 35 minutes for the taxi to arrive, which actually turned out to be almost 50 minutes. After the taxi driver got us all loaded up and home…groceries got put away; then came a little time of relaxation.
Later that evening, as I began to prepare for bed; I stopped to thank God for all that He had brought us through; but wondered why the day seemed so difficult, after asking Him to be with us.
After lying on the bed and looking out the window for a while…God began to remind me that even though we may ask Him to be there for us; that this doesn’t mean that it will always happen in the way we expect it to happen. In Proverbs 16:1, we read… “We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer.”
Later, I came to see that even though our plans went in a different direction, as what I first felt that they would go…we did end up arriving to the store safely…and we did get everything we needed…and even through the pain; it was God who held me up and sustained me, until I was safely home.
I have come to see that Satan is out there to take away our peace and everything good that God has blessed us with; but even in the midst of all that chaos yesterday…God was there to help and answer my prayer.
Sometimes, I think that we can become so caught up in how we feel God should answer our prayers; that when it doesn’t happen that way; then we begin to feel as if God never heard our prayers to begin with, which only leads us to more discouragement. The one thing that I have been trying to take hold of lately…is to share my thoughts with God and leave the final outcome in His hands. In this way…His will is being done and I’m not disappointed in the end.
No matter what you may be facing today…give it to Jesus and leave it there; for He sees more than what we will ever see. Have a very blessed day…and may God give you the strength to wait on Him…knowing that His ways are the very best! God bless!
