Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Friday to you all! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving…and that you are having another nice day! My prayer, as we begin our time together; is that we will come to see that with every new day; comes moments of renewal…Amen!
As I’ve been sitting here in my office…looking out to another new day; I see a view outside my window that is so different from yesterday. Where there were once clouds…there is sunshine peeking through those clouds…and even the yard has a different look and feel to it this morning.
You know…I have come to see how easily we can miss out on these brand new days that God sets before us; just by continually focusing on everything that might have gone wrong in our yesterdays.
As I’ve been sharing my heart with God this morning; He began to lead me to a Bible verse in 2 Corinthians 4:16…and we read… “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”
In my situation…I find that it can be so easy to judge my tomorrows, by the pain and tiredness I may experience today. Isn’t it amazing, as to how a bad moment can attempt to convince us that tomorrow will be the same?
One thing that God has taught me to do over time; is to end my day on a positive note. In other words…look for something new…for another new day; and not only anticipate something new; but also allow these thoughts to become hope for another new day.
There have been many times throughout the past, when my day would end in pain and extreme tiredness; but there was this one particular time, when the day was just overwhelmingly busy. As I sat on the edge of the daybed and took a deep sigh of relief…the first thought that honestly came to my mind; was how would I ever make it into the next day…which actually became thoughts that Satan was longing for me to thrive on.
Anyways…as I began to settle down and think through these moments rationally; I began to say to myself… “Diane, it’s going to be ok…because tomorrow is a new day...a day that will turn these moments into a yesterday.” From there…hope began to spring up within me…a hope that reassured me that everything was going to be alright.
You know…there can be times, when we are brought so low in life; that before we realize it…we begin to believe what these moments are attempting to convey to us, which can easily cause us to lose heart; but one thing we must remember…is that even though our bodies, minds and hearts have a way of taking us down to a place of hopelessness; Jesus is at work within us…preparing us with a new strength and new moments that can carry us through another new day. Sometimes, I think we just need to slow down and let Jesus encourage our hearts…and not fly off with every deceptive thought that enters our minds.
A few Bible verses that God has laid upon my heart, to share with you right now…that I truly believe can help us through these trying times; is found in Lamentations 3:22-23…and we read… “Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23) They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
You know…even though a trying circumstance can attempt to make us believe that this will always be our lot in life; we must remember that the love that Jesus had for us at the cross continues on…a love that will never allow evil to defeat us; and just think…He created this life in a way, where we wouldn’t have to live one long day into eternity; but rather, He created this life in a way, where we could experience other new days…days where we could truly come to see and experience hope, compassion and most of all His faithfulness.
No matter what you may be facing today…don’t give up, just because you had a bad day; but rather, take hold of the One that has promised you another new tomorrow…Amen!
Many blessings on your day!
