How many times do we feel overwhelmed by life...to the place, where we want to give up? I remember many times in my past, when I felt this way; but I came to see in the end; that the only reason why I wanted to give up, was because I was too focused on what the circumstance was attempting to whisper in my ear at the time...like, "Look...you're in too deep; there will never be a way out." Isn't it amazing how these circumstances can convey messages that become a leash around our neck...leading us to a place of total despair. Sometimes, I wonder why we find it so much easier to listen to this voice of circumstance, rather than the still small voice of God; that can bring comfort and hope to us, during times such as these?
In John 10:27-28, we read... "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."
When we can discern between the voice of almighty God and the deceptive voice of evil; then we will find it much easier to shut out the voice of deceit...and how do we do that? We have a connection with God that draws us to the familiarity of His loving voice.
