Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I am so glad to be back with you today…and my prayer for you; is that you will never give up on God; but rather, you will allow the difficult times you face, to draw you even closer to Him…Amen!!
This morning, as I’ve been once more relaxing to some music, while listening for God’s voice within my spirit; I was reminded, as to how the difficult times can make it even harder to remain committed to God.
Earlier, as I was visiting with Keith in the living room, I was mentioning to him that we all suffer for the cause of Christ to some degree; but I have truly come to see how serving God can be even more difficult at times. It seems as though Satan comes at me, with every blow that His power can throw my way…and if you were to sit down with me and have a long talk; I could tell you story after story, as to how Satan has attempted to bring me down and out of commission with God.
One thing I can say today; is that no matter what has come my way…or no matter how tempting it’s been to want to give up…I never have…and why…because I have learned to get an attitude with Satan, while allowing these difficult times to nudge me even closer to God.
This morning, I would like to share a couple of very powerful Bible verses with you; that will also help and encourage you, while walking down these hard and difficult paths of life…and the first one is found in I Timothy 4:1, which reads… “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”
One thing I remind myself of quite often; is to keep a good connection with God…because when we are caught up in the difficult times that surround us; then we only become sitting prey for Satan to deceive. I truly believe with all my heart that these are the days, when we can easily find ourselves following after deceptive spirits and not even realize it. Look at all that is taking place around us…and the sad part of it is…is that the ones who are being deceived in this world don’t even realize it. In fact, it’s as though Satan has deceived them to the place, where they have now become a puppet on his string. Sometimes I just stop and thank God that I know where I’m headed…and that’s a blessing in itself.
Today, some of you may be wondering why we are attacked so harshly…and why we suffer in this life as Christians. In I Timothy 4:10, God gives us the answer, which says… “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.”
We need to realize that the struggles we face as Christians have become a war between good and evil. In other words…the more we remain committed to Christ…the more Satan comes at us…working to remove us from the presence of God. In fact, this actually becomes a time of testing, as God is looking to see, who will remain faithful to Him in the end. You see…it’s so easy to say “I love You Jesus”… but is our love for Him, revealing hearts that are truly committed to Him…no matter the cost.
Maybe today, you are feeling overwhelmed by what you are experiencing…and maybe you have just had enough. May I encourage you today…to not give up; but to keep believing. Instead of focusing on every detail of the problem…why not get into God’s word and read words of hope that can become a spiritual weapon, to deaden the forces of evil. I truly believe that when we allow these difficult times to nudge us closer to God; then the battle won’t seem so difficult to get through; but instead, we will come to see how these difficult times can take us right into the arms of a loving and compassionate God…Amen!
As we close this time together…I pray that your day will be filled with the presence of a God who loves you so very much…and remember one thing…always turn away from the deceptive lies…to reach out for the truth that can keep you free, while walking down these difficult paths of life. God bless!
